Of course these sound better than the Monster cable you get most places (Best Buy, Fry's, Circuit City etc...) Monster sucks too! These cables will have more detail and a better soundstage than the Monster garbage or the OEM cables. But just because Boones farms taste better than Ripple doesn't make it Robert Mondavi or Baron Rothchild.
The Bose and Eosones are terrible too (truely some of the only speakers worthy of 1 or 2 stars), try some better speakers and maybe you will notice more detail, imaging and bass with better cables. Heck a complete set of Energy Take 5's with powered sub is ony $800 and sounds much better.

I bought a pair of these to replace a low-cost Monster pair and a Monster CD interconnect, to go from CD player to TDS box, and from TDS box to receiver. I'm very satisfied with these cables for the money- I feel their is a noticeable difference- the sound seems more open, the soundstage more spacious. IMO, any more improvements would involve upgrading components. Grab'em if you can still find a pair!!

The joke is on you Marvin. All these low(er) end cables made by almost all these high-end companies, are all the same cable (basically). I suggest you take a close look at the Monster 400i, the Tara Labs Prism, the Audioquest "Turquoise", Straightwires Chorus II, Tributaries DCA-100, AR's HT-131. They are all similar, if not, the exact same cable as the RS 42-2676. As a matter of fact, I just saw a pair of Tara Prisms at my local A/V shop that was an EXACT copy of the RS cable. The only difference is that these companies charge anywhere from $35-50 dollars for a 1 meter pair, where as RS charges $4.97 for a 2 meter pair. Grab them while you can...they're almost gone.

Regardless of who's right and who's wrong in these recent postings (half of which probably should occur within the "discussion areas;" read Notice, above), tonight I'm a happy camper. Why?
Because today, after soliciting a local Radio Shack store manager to help me dig
up as many of these cables as possible, he dug and came up with no less than five pairs! But that's not all...THEY RANG UP FOR $4.95 each. So that's what--30 (actually 60) feet of interconnect cable for $26.73, including tax. So, the price was right, to my way of thinking, anyway.

Okay, I can't say how much better or worse they "sound" than $1.99 Slick Willie's, $100 Silk Bullet's, or $10,000 Barnum Bailey's. But, you know what?
I DON'T CARE!!! To me the results are delicious, given my "mid-fi" setup, as I'm sure many here would love to christen my stuff, consisting of:

Denon AVR 2800 receiver
NHT Super Two fronts
NHT Super Center
NHT Super One rears
NHT SW2pi sub.

Now: something for Frank and Andy to work on...DELICIOUS RESULTS = < $30 / 30 feet = One Happy Camper!!!

I stopped by one of the local RS to pick some 12 guage Monster Cable (OMC), and a customer was purchasing 2 sets of these cable for $4.97. He was excited to purchase these at this price. I decided to purchase two sets to use in by system or just in case I wanted standby cables.I hooked up a new Denon DCM 460 Changer that I purchased a few weeks ago. The cables can hold their own for the price. I observed more clarity and tigher bass. I went back yesterday and purchase 8 more cables for $39.76 and changed all my connections. WOW-WOW-WOW, am I happy. The cables are excellent alternative to MC or AR. At $4.97 each, they are the biggest steal around, if you can find them.
I have a simple system that rocks

Lexicon DC 1 (THX, AC-3)
Carver Av 753x - 3 channel amp(THX, 250 wpc)
Carver AV 500x - 2 channel amp (THX, 250 wpc
Denon DCM 460 CD changer
Eosone RSF 600 speakers
Radio Shack HT Gold connects
DEnon AV 95/2700 Tuner/amp
Bose AM-7 for rear sound
Bose 200 dipole for side sound
Pioneer SDP 55075 Projection Monitor TV
RCA DSS Receiver
C-VEGAS 150 powered Subwoofer
Panasonic A110 DVD player
Monster OMC speaker cables

I have to disagree with max, even the Best Buy Monster stuff sounds better than these. I read reviews here and siad what the heck their cheap lets try them. They were bright and muddy (if both are possible at the same time, they were here) I went back to my old Interlink 200's from my wifes stereo and even these were better. I f you are not into music i.e home theater, may be these will work ok. But I like dynamics in my system and these things crushed the dynamic.

I don't care what anyone says, these are good wires and for the price they are great! When I plugged them in I noticed tighter bass and voices were more natural. So if you can go out and buy as many of these as you can while they last.

Well from the previous posters "great" spelling and use of the english language, it isn't hard to dismiss his elementary review.
