I heard about Brad Marcus and Bettercables.com through a review online and I was hooked. I had to try them. I have never spent money on my cables before. I was always using cheap Radio Shack cables and I never realized what good cables could do. It is so common for people to spend money on TV's, components, and equipment but not cables! If you have any doubts about your system, try changing cables. Brad Marcus and the folks at Bettercables deserve so much praise. I was blown away by their customer service and return policies. I will definitely buy again form them, Optical cable and speakers cables are next.

I recommend everyone to buy these cables.

Weakness:

There are no weaknesses here.

I was brought to Better Cables from my brother. He was amazed at them and made me buy their cables. Let there be no doubt, this people don't fool around.

I've never handled more high quality cables in my life. The sound quality I get is phenomenal.

I was also very impressed with their customer service. They were very quick to respond in email.

I have no problem returning as a repeat customer and I also have no problem telling every single person I know about Better Cables

Strength:

Very smooth detail particularly in mid range, excellent bass, great construction

I have recently been upgrading my system and decided to see if cables really make that much difference. I was using Monster and satisfied with the performance but had nothing to compare it to. When I saw the reviews and 6 month trial period I thought...why not. I connected the Serpent from my DVD to preamp and heard an IMMEDIATE difference...dialogue much clearer, action scenes (read heavy bass, glass breaks, etc.) were far more dynamic. Hearing the improvement with DVD, I unhooked the Harmonic Tech digital running my CD. Doing some A/B between the 2 I found each to have their positive differences, but the performance didn't warrant the higher price of the Harmonic Tech. Save money and not compromise performance...these cables are great.

Strength:

solid construction, huge soundstage, excellent quality, great customer service (Thanks Brad!), no break in time required

Weakness:

ABSOLUTELY NONE

I was going to buy the ultra until Brad called me and introduced me to the new silver serpent series. He offered to ship for free. I said ok..got the cables today and
WOAAAAA...a lil more costly at $69/0.5M but well worth it.
Yes, they made a 0.5M length by popular demand.

It certainly lived up to the hype. Soundstage is phenomenal..allows for a much bigger sweet spot for my maggies. It's no wonder why these cables received the thumbs up award

1. Grab your toslink optical cable
2. Throw it in the garbage
3. Goto bettercables.com and order the silver serpent digital coax cable
4. Try to keep that kool-aid smile off your face afterwards

Update: Brad sent me an email for a free mousepad,
but that did not in anyway influence my decision to post this awesome review!

Strength:

GOOD BUILD QUALITY, EXCELLENT SOUNDSTAGE, ALL FREQUENCIES COME ALIVE.

Weakness:

I WAS USING FIRST THE MONSTER CABLE DATALINK 100, I THOUGHT IT WAS GOOD, UNTIL I GOT THE STRAIGHT WIRE SILVER LINK II, THIS WAS A LITTLE BIT BETTER THAN THE MONSTER, MORE DETAIL, BUT THE MIDRANGE FREQ. WERE LOW, THEN I READ THE REVIEWS OF THE BETTERCABLES, SILVER SERPENT DIGITAL COAX, THEY WERE VERY GOOD, SO I DECIDED TO BUY IT AT BETTERCABLES.COM. THE FIRST MOMENT I GOT THE 1 METER SILVER SERPENT DIGITAL COAXIAL, AND PLUGED IN, THE DIFFERENCE WAS VERY OBVIOUS, ALL FREQUENCIES CAME ALIVE, THE MIDRANGE WAS VERY PRESENT, AND BETTER SOUNDSTAGE, THE HIGH FREQUENCIES SOUND MUCH BETTER. MY B&W'S DM 603 S2 SOUND BETTER THAN BEFORE. I'M VERY HAPPY WITH THIS DIGITAL COAX CABLE. THANKS BRAD MARCUS.
I'M THINKING AND GETTING MORE BETTERCABLES PRODUCTS.

Weakness:

I don't have another one for my Sat reciever Yet ..

Well now , I'm one of those people that are REALLY troubled by the costs and marketing of consumer wire .
I really felt as though the optical cable I was using from my DVD to Reciever was `Good Enough' , but there was something about the high/mid that sounded a little scratchy/distorted to me .
After much reading and opinions , I decided to take a chance on the Ultra Coax from BC .
What an amazing difference - I was really supprised at how smooth my DVD sounds after only a few tests .
The cable arrived in a simple plastic bag with a lable - THIS was a great indicator that I was getting all product and not paying for silly packaging and promotional printed BS . Nothing trying to convince you that it's a good cable - just the cable - I REALLY LIKE THAT !!

Nice Goin' Brian !!!

Clear highs, great midrange and helps control muddy bass!

Weakness:

I just received this cable and am using it from the Coaxial output of my Toshiba DVD player to my Marantz SR880 receiver. I had heard many good things about Bettercables and their products and I can say this cable is the REAL DEAL!!!
A definite improvement in terms of imaging and expanding the soundstage for movies such as The Matrix and Terminator 2. However, the biggest benefit for me was much better controlled bass output from my Energy ES-10 subwoofer. I'm very happy with the product for both movies and music and can't wait to test it's abilities as a composite video cable from my laserdisc player.

This review is about the sivler serpent coaxil cable. The quality of the cable is excellent. In terms of dealing with Brad he took the time to share the building of the cable. As I looked at other cables this one is different, it is built very solid. In listen to Saving Private Ryan, the quanitity of sound as well as the quality was amazing. At one point I heard crackling sound coming from the speaker and I wondered what was wrong when I realized the sound was the burning of a fire. In listening to the Matrix, again the quality of sound accurate and precise. In terms of other cables, my experience with recommendations from various audio centers, the recommendations have been monster cables. To be honest with you, this cable for $69 for a 1/2 meter is far more outstanding. In term of any other cables down the road, bettercables has my business. In terms of dealing with bettercables you will be dealing directly with the manufacter, not a middle man.

Excellent make and the coax is just wonder fully transparent sound. Also use in a video hookup of my Proceed to TV main for no HD applications, far better than any of the above cables used. Very heavy construction and make.

Casual Listener

While just a casual user I wanted performance from my system, without the high cost of of reported hi-end cables. These cables are amazing. When even my wife, who is tone deaf can tell the difference, you really know you have a good product.
If you are just trying to put a good system together without breaking into the piggy bank, you can not find a better deal.
