Exact same problem identified by others. Finally crapped out last night. Must be progressive. Also thought problem was with individual discs or scratched rentals. Seemed random, now has struck with a vengeance. Had a carousel CD player from Sony that decided tray would never open again - no help from Sony on that one either. WILL NEVER BUY, RECOMMEND OR LOOK AT ANOTHER SONY PRODUCT. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER. By the way, Best Buy, who doesn't care, either, thanks for doing nothing.

Strength:

thought sony would have a strong product

Weakness:

poor quality ,No longevity

I have had this unit just over a year and now constantly get the c13:00 error or no disk error. Now that I think of it I believe that this problem started with a jumpy picture and still frames during playback. From what I've read Its cheaper just to buy a new dvd player than to fix it.Just about everything I own is sony but I think this is going to change.

DON'T BUY A SONY DVD PLAYER!

DON'T BUY A SONY DVD PLAYER!

Bought this thing in the summer of 2000. Worked for almost two years--yeah, truly amazing given some reviews I've read--then the fatal NO DISC error appeared. Took it to a repair shop specializing in Sony. Told me they refused to fix it (and a bunch of thers like they had seen) because the replacement laser from Sony was worse than the original--back to the NO DISC error in as little as 6 months. Sony, I hope you paying attention because your product rep is rapidly filling up the gutter!! DO THE RIGHT THING and issue a recall!! And fix it right this time.

Strength:

decent if its working

Weakness:

only lets you watch about 1/2 a movie

I started to get the C13 error, and it became more and more common. I ended up giving the DVD player away, and now the person I gave it gave it back saying it was a piece of crap. Contacted Sony they told me to take it in for repair. It will cost me more to repair it then the thing it worse. I make sure that anything I buy is not Sony now. If for no other reason but there crappy support. If someone is doing a class action law suit email me at chris.musgrove@computalog.com. Or if someone knows of a fix.

c1300 error at first then the no disk error making the dvd player worthless

I am like many of you other ex-sony customers. I started getting the c1300 error a while back and just the other day I started to get the no disk error. I am not very happy after reading the reviews on this site. Seems to me that sony has a problem with the dvd's and they need to make it right with the customers who bought the dvd players. I would not buy another one from them again.

It says Sony on it.

It says Sony on it.

I am an avid Sony Fan. All of the equipment in my home is Sony, including 5 TV's, 3 VCR's, Audio Cassette,... well you get the idea. I am having the same problems as everyone else in this review "NO Disk". What a piece of Sh__. If someone does initiate a class action law suit against Sony for this unit, count me in.

Strength:

None (It stopped working!)

Weakness:

Very short product life and extremely poor customer service from Sony.

Unit worked perfectly for first three months. Started developing seemingly random "no disc" and "c:13:00" errors. The unit seemed to have the most trouble with gold 2 layer discs. Problem continued to get worse until unit refused to play any discs at all at 9 month mark. Called Sony and they would cover parts but not labor. Labor was quoted at a minimum of $120 just to evaluate unit. Spent the $120 on an apex player and have had no problems since.

Strength:

Sony brand especially if it is Made in Japnan

Weakness:

Sony is a loser if it is Made in Malaysia or China.

Like many other stated about the problems with the Sony DVP-360 dvd player, it crapped out on me within 1.5 year. FROM NOW ON, I WILL NOW ONLY BUY SONY PRODUCTS THAT ARE MADE IN JAPAN. NOT MADE IN MALAYSIA OR CHINA, EVEN THOUGH SONY HAD E-MAILED ME AND SAID THAT IT USES THE SAME STANDARD QUALITY AS THE JAPAN ONE. Yeah right, give me a break.
