Strength:

None

Weakness:

Will not play / read DVD's. Warranty not long enough to cover the problem period.

This DVD constantly stops in mid movie / starts at the beginning / or will not play a movie at all, flashing C 13 or " no disk". Its now out of warranty and I'm tired of everyone accusing me of buying the cheapest DVD player! Usually finish the movie using the kids PS2.

Strength:

The remote?? (Joke)

Weakness:

Piece of crap

I wish I read some of the reviews before buying this DVD player. This unit basically just takes up space. I've never owned something that consistantly doesn't work correctly. Playing a DVD is brutal since the movie freezes or skips back to the beginning constantly. I don't know about never buying Sony again but I'll at least shop around more this time.

Strength:

Good looking unit. That's about it.

Weakness:

Piece of crap, won't read CD-R's, CD-RW's, or DVDs.

The player stopped working after about 11 months of service. Going to buy a new DVD player on Friday and afterwards bash this one into many pieces. Going into the service menu and re-adjusting the unit did make it work for a while (a few months). Go here to find more info on it... http://groups.google.com/groups?q=sony+dvp+360+service+menu&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&selm=_lnU7.3933%24Cw3.482099%40newsread2.prod.itd.earthlink.net&rnum=2

Are you joking?

Weakness:

Besides not working???

Seriously...if I had wanted a one-disc cd player I would have skipped the $250 I paid for this unit. My player was fixed on two occasions by the retailer only to have the C 13 show up in a matter of a few months each time. Now I am out of the warranty period and sony is out another customer. Hope this helps get the word out.

Weakness:

reliability, zero customer support, known historical failures without company recall,

Joined the ranks of the other thousands at about the one year mark ... "dirty disc" errors, skipping/freezing video, etc. I'll never buy another SONY home video product. Funny enough though, I'm sending this from my 5-year old SONY VAIO PII-266 that's been flawless!

Two other $79 dvd players (not SONY) in our house work flawlessly, and they never get proper cleanoings! (kids, you know)

Strength:

Nice black color

Weakness:

Lifespan of a fruit fly.

Broken record with this complaint against this SONY model. Called SONY tech support, who claimed (and you'll love this), that my complaint of s-360 he had heard. After laughter stopped, we talked thru issue-end of day only offer was to Service (not at SONY's expense)..told him was ready to join the suit. Contacted law firm re suit and they've left me a message that they are willing to give $100 for machine (at their Airborne cost). Have not followed up, but seems pretty tempting. Has anyone else surrendered DVD to law firm??? Don't really care if they can flip this for couple bucks more, as long as I get paid the $100.

Strength:

Basic Interlaced DVD player with the SONY QUALITY name on it. -- No Strengths --

Weakness:

C:13:00 errors ultimatley leading to an unusable DVD player in a little over a year of NORMAL use.

I have a Sony DVP-S315 that was bought in the summer of 2000. After only one month of use, I received the C:13:00 error. The manual explains that a dirty DVD causes the error. I would remove the DVD and wipe it with a clean cloth (not that it even needed cleaned). After removing, cleaning and reinserting the DVD it would play sometimes and other times I would receive the error again. Just a BIG nuisance, I never thought that it was leading to a slow death of the player. Anyhow, I just got off of the phone with Sony Support and they told me that I would have to have it serviced for around $130.00. I think I'll put that $130.00 towards another brand DVD player and wait to see what happens with the class action suit. Sony has obviously produced many players that are lemons. I will stay away from Sony because they KNOW that there is an issue with some of their players and will not help their loyal customers.

Strength:

When it works it's nice.

Weakness:

JUNK product unsupported by SONY

Sony DVP-S360 This piece of equipment is really a total piece of junk! After 10 months of operation the laser burned up. I would say "NO DISC" The warranty at Sears was only 30 days. I found a web site to replace the laser assembly and replaced it myself. Sony would NOT respond! I replaced the assembly and it worked for another 6 mo. DEAD AGAIN! My son and I bought the same model at the same time and his is also DEAD. I very electronics minded and capable. Don't buy these JUNK SONY PRODUCTS!!! DVP-S360 DVD player.

Strength:

Was a feature-packed DVD player with a good selection of input/output jacks.

Weakness:

It's a lemon, obviously.

Same problem with my DVP-S360. Random C:13:00 error, even with brand-spankin'-new discs. I feel unhopeful for a positive outcome after reading some of the others' reviews. I am going to contact Sony tomorrow; I really hope they'll offer to replace or repair it for free, because I'm too poor to buy another DVD player at this point. :(
