Strength:

very dynamic speaker

Weakness:

a tad bright at times

I have been using this speaker for center channel duties for about 4 months now. I was going to get the BIC bookshelf speakers for my fronts until I read Todzillas review of using this exact speaker for all three front channels. I can tell you he was not blowing smoke. This combonation sounds absolutely fantastic. Music sounds great and DVDs are mind blowing. This is a very powerful speaker and for the price paid, I dont think a better deal is to be had. I drive the system with a Denon 1801 and it will drive the wife right outta the room with ease. I am going to hook up an amp for the front left and right as soon as I can scrape up the funds. If you are in the market for a great center or front speakers, give this a try.

I recently picked up this center channel from shop4.com for $80 bucks and I consider it a steal. I read a great review of the DV62CLR in www.hometheatermag.com. Just search for "DV62CLR" on the website and the article should come up. Anyway, the reviewer Terry Landry stated,"Noting the similarity of the driver complement, I expected a smooth dovetailing of sonic signatures--which is exactly what I got. Actually, I've never heard such seamlessly smooth dovetailing between the dialogue-intensive center and the front mains of any speaker system, regardless of price. The V62CLR is hands-down the best-sounding center speaker I've ever heard." For your money, this speaker is well worth a look. 5 stars on value!! 5 on sound!

On the previsous review, $80 would be too awesome for this speaker. I paid$140 and still think that's a steal. The dual 6 1/2 woofers handle themselves
really well. It is great for watching DVD movies. I did my entire system
with BIC speakers. I a very satisifed with them!!

4 Stars!!

This center channel speaker absolutely rocks! The voice clarity from DVD movies is outstanding. It has plenty of punch too. I have BIC all around and am well pleased with the value ($149 for the 62CLR) and quality.

Strength:

Excellent voice/mid reproduction
Good Base output
Overall solid output

Weakness:

Rather large

I got this from Ubid for around 115 delivered. I have a 32" TV and this baby couldn't sit on top, and under it, the TV was too high.

When it was on top, the center affected the TV. Red & blue fuzz zones where the mag. field hit the screen were quite evident. The cover is attached by hidden plastic tabs and to remove it you must pull on some attached nylon tabs that pull the cover off. Not the easiest thing to do.

Overall the sound from this is very good. Base output is good. You don't see 6.5 woofers on centers very much and I was skeptical about whether it could accuratly reproduce the mid. However, it did a great job. Of any speaker I've heard so far, this baby really shines. The timber and variance in voice can eaisly be distinguished and the flow is excellent.

An excellent center. I wish it were smaller.

Strength:

Great Bass output, nice mids, trebles not harsh

Weakness:

none

When I first bought my entertainment system last year, the area I skimped on was my center speaker because I thought it was the least important speaker. Subsequently, I bought a P.O.S. Jensen speaker with 1-5" speaker. I just got this speaker yesterday, and I couldn't believe the difference the center speaker makes. I thought I had my subwoofer on way too high, but then figured that it was because this speaker puts out some serious bass. The vocals are so incredibly clear using this speaker. I'm still amazed at how good this speaker is and how little it cost. It is so good, that I am looking to buy other Venturi speakers to replace the Infinity speakers I have right now. I figure if this speaker sounds this good, the rest of the Venturi product line has to sound pretty good too.

Strength:

CLEAR HIGHS, LOTS OF POWER, MORE BASS THAN A CENTER DESERVES.

Weakness:

BIG, BUT IN A WAY THAT IS GOOD. Its not like you are going to put this thing on a 13" TV.

WOW especially for the money i paid $120 and am damn happy with it.

It is kind of big but I think it helps it sound WIDE. It is also ok because it makes it look and feel like it's higher quality.

It has a outstanding tweeter When wesley snipes used the sword in 'Blade' this puppy shines. I had to turn the bass down because it keeps shaking the top of my big screen during Jurassic Park. This thing is better than centers I heard that cost three times as much.

It is sad that the rest of the BIC line I have tried sucks. That is why I went with Infinity fronts and AR edge rears. Have not bought the sub yet, but I am thinking about going witha klipsh KSW 12.

I'm very impressed with this speaker ($158). The bass response is more than a center channel deserves and it produces a very full sound. If BIC made a larger bookshelf speaker I'd buy them immediately.

Weakness:

Zero, zip, nada, nothing!

If you are embarrassed by the BIC emblem on the front of the unit pull it off. Then call your friends over to listen to your $500 center channel. They will be blown away and you can laugh to yourself and know you got it for a steal! People will figure out that these are for real and snatch them up for this looowwwwwww price so you better get yours before they jack them up in a bidding war!
My system:
Denon AVR-2800
JBL SVA-1600 (so sad they don't make this beauty anymore)
BIC DV62CLR Center
Klipsch Quintet Surrounds (also a steal!)
SVS 20-39PC Powered Subwoofer (do you like >110 db at 20HZ? I DO!) check out svsubwoofers.com
Sony 660 DVD changer
Phillips 27" (too small getting a bigger one)
