Strength:
Everything about it.
Weakness:
None. When I first put together my first home theater system I had some small speakers including an Infinity CC1, which was terrible...tinney and hollow sounding, no depth of sound at all. Eventually replaced it with just an oversized Mitsubishi bookshelf speaker, which was better but not a permanent solution. After a lot of research and listening, I decided to buy this speaker as the foundation of the system I enspired to have. I eventually bought this speaker slightly used off ebay...and couldn't have made a better purchase. This center is abosutley fantastic. The thing that got me the most, was in the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan, when he was walking through the cementary, you could actually hear his feet rustling through the grass. This speaker brings out sounds I hadn't heard before on movies I'd watched several times. The sound seems to just spill out of it, there's no "labored pushing" even at high volumes...just pure crystal clear sound reproduction. It also has tons of bass for a center and an awesome range of sound. At one point (after I upgraded my fronts to RF-3's and a KSW12 sub) I had accidently switched off my front speakers from my receiver. I had the stereo cranked pretty loud for a couple of hours, not noticing a thing, eventually I wound up standing next to my left front speaker and noticed no sound was coming out and realized the this center channel was filling the house with music, virtually (help from sub) by itself. I've listened to other centers that cost 2x as much, and none of them can beat this speaker, it is simply awesome. Similar Products Used: Infinity CC1 (not in same leauge) |

Strength:
Very clear sound and great vocals for movies. Very good for the price.
Weakness:
A little big, but not a weakness just an inconvenience. A huge difference from my last center speaker, the famous BOSE VCS-10 center channel speaker. Unfortunatelty all that speaker had was the BOSE name. I can tell a huge difference in even your drama type movies were there is scenes of talking and not explosions and action. Again for the price there is nothing that can beat it. The closet quality for the price would probably be paradigm speakers. Best system you can get for the price and check out the ratings on this site for this system: |

Strength:
That "live" sound I've come to expect from Klipsch
Weakness:
Big and heavy I recently replaced the RC3 with the bigger and heavier KLF-C7 to match my KLF-30's. The sound clarity and live feel is what I really liked about the RC3. I don't think it was a perfect match for the KLF-30's but it was definitely good enough for the month that I used it. Anyone interested in buying it? E-mail me at robert.luna@sabre.com |

Strength:
a live sound and "real" theater-like
Weakness:
very sensitive to placement ; will reviel its location easily (in an unpleasant way) if your not careful to place it just so Let me start by saying that this is my first home theater setup and so you should judge my opinions accordingly.I bought the whole Klipsch reference line and overall I'm very happy with thier performance. The only diffuculty I've had was getting a timber match between the rr3's and the rc3. I've checked all the speakers with a spl meter and I've adjusted the soundfields/delays for all the speakers using a formula I found from an online hometheater site. Each adjustment I've made improved the sound, but even so , the when something moves across the front of the soundstage it still isnt a perfect sound match. Is It me? is something I'm not doing right? I called Klipsch and got more advice from the gurus there but ....Anyway I still think its a great speaker and leagues above so many out there that cost much more and so for that I give it 5 stars for "bang for the buck" and 4 because of the slight timber problems. Strength:
Crisp clear dialogue.
Weakness:
None This Klipsch RC3 center channel speaker is superb! It is the first Klipsch speaker I have purchased and I am so impressed. The dialogue is clear and crisp and can be heard over the special effects of the movie being played. It is an awesome speaker and I plan to purchase only Klipsch. In addition, Acoustic Sound Design was so responsive and did not over charge me on the purchase price or shipping, I plan to purchase my remaining speakers through them. Similar Products Used: Sony |

Weakness:
It has weaknesses? Actually, this is for the 2001 RC-3 II. I have reached Nirvana. I shall never need another center channel speaker. Similar Products Used: Quintets, Polk, B&W, Mirage |

Sound After reading 27 reviews on AudioReview, all giving the RC-3 a perfect 5 rating, I decided to go and find some professional reviews. The Klipsch site only lists four reviews, two from eTown, and none of the RC-3 (or any of their Reference series for that matter). So I headed off for my local Klipsch dealer (about 40 minutes away) to have a listen. Similar Products Used: Paradigm Reference Center |

This was surprisingly the best sounding out of a direct comparison with the Def. Tech C/L/R 2002 $499( very muddy lows and uninspiring mids-you must judge this one yourself because it sound so different), the Mission C2 at $499 was close, Mission MS77C $349 was weak, and my Pinnacle Widecenter I brought in to compare. The Pinnacle (4 four inch woofers and 1" tweeter 1996 model) held its own in the mids but with out any lows the tone is too high to match good main speakers. seperately I heard the B&W CLR S2 $499 and this may be the best of them all in this price range, very good lows if you run your Center speaker Wide or full range, with good power overall from its 2.5 way arrangement=1 6.5" woofer and 1 6.5" woofer/mid and 1" tweeter. 4.5 stars |

Strength:
Klipsch reputation, finish / workmanship, great sound, very efficient 97db...
Weakness:
A bit large. After purchasing a great receiver, I started to build my home system around a great center channel speaker. I already had a good stereo system with a pair of Klipsch tower speakers. They are around 10 years old. They still scream when pushed!!! Anyway, having such good luck with the Klipsch in the past, I was a little partial. But, I gave many other centers a chance including Polk, Paradigm and B/W to name a few. All were great speakers, however, the Klipsch were the best. Workmansip is excellent, although the Polk was good too. What it comes down to is sound, especially home theater, and this thing cooks!!! Just saw "Gone in Sixty Seconds", it was breath taking.. I know most people love'em or hate'em attitude with Klipsch speakers. You need to give this speaker a try. You will not be sorry!!!!! Hook it up to your receiver and crank it up. You will realize what the term efficent means on a speaker. You will never go back to a speaker with low ratings ever again!!!! Similar Products Used: Other klipsch speakers |
