2 Guys in a white van

Wow. Here I thought I got a good deal. Back when I was naive and trusting I too was pulled over in MN by these two guys. Bought them. Have been happy with them. But stay away from these a-holes. They must have made a killing.

Strength:

Great Tweeters, excellent bass response

Weakness:

Getting bad raps from people that don't know good sound when they hear it.

Ok, When I got the speakers they wouldn't work and immediately packaged them up and called a gentleman named Doug at the factory. He was very understanding and was going to refund my $$, but I then got to thinking, if I don't go the extra mile and see what's in these cabinets, I will never know if they are good or not. I broke into the cabinets and found that the leads had come off the speakers during shipment and WOW when I hooked them up, I COULD NOT BELIEVE THE SOUND. I have a recording studio and have used the above mentioned studio monitors for many years, but for the buck, these are an incredible value.

They have not paid me to say any of these things, infact if you talk to Doug, he'll tell you I was pretty pissed off that they didn't initially work, but he has stayed in CONSTANT CONTACT with me and saw me through this entire situation.

Do yourself a favor and order the Acoustic Technology DL 6.2 monitors, they are even more awesome than the 3311's.

Strength:

gets pretty loud, decent bass, good trebble and mids

Weakness:

bass distortion at loud levels

These are a good pair of speakers with great sound. Although when turn up loud on my optimus stav-3690 the bass gets distorted a bit. I've never turned my stereo up past half way

Strength:

Nice Full Bass

Weakness:

Tweets and Mids

These speakers are usually sold as a scam for ridiculous amounts of money, HOWEVER, providing you don't get burned and you actually listen to the speaker as unbiased as possible, you will find that the woofer is a nice tight cone that delivers a very full round Bass. One of the nice features about the speaker is it's ability to control the mids and highs via knobs located on the speakers themselves. With these features coupled with the equalization coming from my amp, I have no complaints. I prefer a dry, clean response from speakers so if you're looking for a wetter, spongier, sounding speakers these would not be the ones. These things are punchy and they need at 100 watts or so to get what you want from them. I paid $100 bucks for'em and use them as computer speakers (lined out of an Onkyo 100 watt amp) and my room sounds great! They are NOT high dollar speakers, but well worth 100 bucks.

Strength:

Great sound and nice bass response

Weakness:

Not a high power output bass speaker

Well,
I got these speakers from a guy driving down that road in a white dodge caravan and was asking me to pull over b/c he got the best speakers that are not opened. so i said what the heck we pulled into a parking lot and there were like 6 pairs of speakers in boxes in the back.
The person tried to say there speakers sell for over 600.00 MSRP.
I really didnt know what the heck these speakers are and never , never heard of them, but he told me there gurantee to work and we started to bargin from 600.00 I finally agrees that I will pay 220.00 for a pair of 3way 12" woofers w/ mids and tweets. I did test them in the parking lot off my car amplifier and that was a 200watt MTX comp amp and yes ol boy they did work. These speakers are known to be around but for a person that well sell them are some1 driving and asking U to pull over to see what he has. I say it was not a rip off. I mean for the price I got for these I could of went to SEARS and got a pair of JENSEN 15" 2ways, but hell I got 3 ways and they sound way better.
but over all these are still working and I push over 600 watts into them!!

Strength:

Nice punch, low distortion at high volume, nice mids and bass. Look very nice. :-P

Weakness:

High Frequencies can get tinny, Bass doesn't go as low as I'd like sometimes (but that's what a Subwoofer is for). Construction on some one speaker seems cheap (but that's what they are).

Great speakers for the price, next up in price that pushes this much sound, and as nicely, is about $500-$800 a pair, so I feel pretty good about the purchase, especially as a starter pair after some old hand-me down speakers. They sound great across the board, from Classical to Hard Rock, Action movies to The Simpsons.

I have a Denon AVR-1601, putting in 100watts a channel. Next in line is a complete home theatre system, with all new speakers, but these have held me nicely for the past 3 years, and probably into the future as well.

This is the reason i did this review... These guys give you a story about there boss and some extra mointors. they told me they are 929 retail. they talk a whole lot and are ruthless and will do what ever it takes to get you to buy them. they tricked me because i had no idea what any of this stuff was and i belived them. don't buy them. They travel all over CA, and do this stuff... it cost me $310 for $250 monitors when i am the one spouse to be getting the deal. stay away from van guys.

There is no such product as an Acoustic Energy Series 3311 speaker , there is however a cheap Hong Kong Speaker called an Acoustic Series 3311 - its sound ok for something thats worth about $HK 250- 350 , so if you get sold one beware of it being hyped as a Acoustic Energy speaker, which are unbelivable !!!

Very good bass response, quite impressive tweeters as well

Weakness:

Sometimes causes me to wake up the neighbors

Well I got these speakers from some guys selling them from the back of their van...I've heard tons of stories from people saying they've gotten amazing deals that way and some stories of people getting screwed that way. So I hooked them up, gave them a thorough listen, and decided they kicked enough ass for me. Great low and midrange, not bad high either
