I bought them today and took down their license plate. 117ZEW (Fulton County) White Chevy Van of course. I came straight home to see if I could find info...low and behold! I am looking for the address in Georgia to send them back. I haven''t even hooked them up yet and refuse. Thanks everyone for your help. arg. I got got. That guy was the best actor I''ve seen in years. so now I''m trying to get my money back, and so I called the 201 number and the person who answered the phone sounded a lot like the guy in the SUV. I told him that I got his number from the message board thinking he would help me.....but he gave me the whole, "you bought it, so enjoy it" bit. I got angry and threatened to call the police to trace the number, because I was unable to find the local distributor due to the disconnected numbers for the manufacturers that scamshield gave me. So now I''m stuck. If anybody has updated telephone numbers, please email me or post them. I need to get my money back.

Just: 1) Click on the ''View All'' button on top of this page in order to view all the posts on one page. 2) Do a find by pressing CTRL+F and type ''James'' in the field. 3) Also do a find for ''Blue Lotus''. He has some VERY crucial updates to my post. There are 4-5 posts that will detail out how to get your money back. Outer construction is a little poor, but not too bad. If anyone else runs into these characters, bid low. Atleast you can live with the price you paid. And look on the bright side, so maybe you didn''t make out like a bandit like you thought you would, but it is a decent playing system and you didn''t get robbed. Sketchy. Very Sketchy.

Not really sure what year this Home Theater System is, but you know what, I don''t really care. I would have paid the same price in the store, so maybe that makes me an ignorant consumer. Oh well. If they last a year or so, I figure I got my money''s worth.

Wow, I just happened across this thread. I didn''t buy these speakers but the "van guys" did try to scam me about 1-2 months ago as I was walking into a Wal-Mart. Same basic story of theater quality speakers left over from a delivery. If they didn''t get rid of them, they would end up in their bosses house. Since I have a good set of Paradigm speakers, I told them I wasn''t interested. They were persistent, and I must admit that my interest was piqued, but I walked away anyway. It did occur to me that they might be selling stolen speakers or that it might even turn out to be a robbery attempt, but never did I imagine that they it was a concerted nationwide speaker selling scheme. Unbeliveable! The human desire to get a great bargain is very powerful. Legitimate retailers play on it all the time. The lure that you might be benefitting from something possibly illegal only adds to the allure. I am a state prosecutor, not a consumer lawyer, but what this company is doing sounds to me like a classic definition of deceptive trade practices. I would suggest that all of you who have been taken by this scam file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Division of your state''s Attorney General''s Office (most have them), the Federal Trade Commission, and the Attorney General of the state where the company is located (I believe a couple of the threads said it was New Jersey), and possibly the local prosecutor for the county where they are located. Good luck. These people need to be put out of business if not locked up.
