Strength:

Great Sales People. Lots of enthusiasm.

Weakness:

The people on this site with buyers remorse.

I bought a set of the famous white van speakers. Acoustic Image 6.5''s took them home hooked them up and they don''t sound bad. I agree with the previous reviewer. If you didn''t have the money to spend you wouldn''t of. If you didn''t like what you saw you wouldn''t have bought it. You get what you pay for. You were trying to take advantage of someone else''s property to begin with. You were willing to rip someone else off for your own benefit. But now you feel as if it happend to you, and what????? It is ok for you to do it to someone but it can''t happen to you. "Buyer Beware of What the Market Will Bare"

Strength:

Sounds good for surround sound front speakers.

Weakness:

None so far except no warranty.

Hi, my boyfriend and I were walking out of the supermarket when a guy and a girl in a white van pulled up and asked us if we wanted to buy speakers. At first we said no but then they asked one more time and my boyfriend being a stereo freak said he''d take a look. They said that they had to go make a delivery and that they had this stuff left over and explained that it was worth $1200 bucks but they really didn''t have a lot of time so we had to make a decision fast. He offered them a hundred bucks and they said no, so he walked away. The guy came over (very hyper as well as the girl) and said they''d do the deal. My boyfriend, of course, made him open the box to see if the speakers were really in there and he liked what he saw. When we got home and hooked them up they sounded not so bad, not for a $100. I have to give it to these guys, they definately are very good at what they do. You can''t really blame them, hey if it works. Most of the people on this site have complained about how they got scammed and I think it''s just their pride that really got hurt. You should know better than to buy from a person driving a van that just pulls up to you or is screaming out the window that he has speakers for sale. If you got taken for a lot of money that''s nobody elses fault but your own unfortunatley.

Strength:

Good sound. Interesting experience.

Weakness:

Scam.

It seems that these guys make different kinds of speakers because the ones I got sound pretty damn good. I bought the pair of towers and a sub. I don''t like getting lied to but these speakers are nice. The sub doesn''t put out 300 rms like the book says it does, but it is close. The tweeters can easily produce to edge of my hearing (about 17,000 Hz). I don''t know about beyond that. The mid range speakers produce a very nice clean sound. The only problem is a very quiet rattle in the titanium tweeters at very loud volumes. Also, the sub enclosure is by default a ported one which produces a nasty air sound at high volumes. I converted it to a sealed box and now it sounds awesome. However, I definitely wouldn''t recommend anyone buying from these guys because of the extreme risk. These guys are very deceptive.

Strength:

I could build some lifting the box

Weakness:

the controls are impossible to decipher

I too purchased from the men in the white van, I bought a Xtreme F/X which is suppossed to be a surround sound system. As I read the instructions I was told many times to see page 23, well there is no page 23. Therefore I believe that it will be dam near impossible to figure out how to set bass, Treble, etc. There are two things that I would like first is to return this so called system and second if unable to do the first is get the rest of the directions. Please contact me if you have them. I went through the same set of circumstances as the rest of you, how ever I have managed to compile some addresses. I would like to find someone that is willing to take a ride with me to see if we can get our money back. I live in Delaware County. Please E me if you are up for it.

These speakers blew out after the second day I had them and I used them as firewood. They burn well!

Yes, I was duped into buying these things. I was just about to enter my gate at home when a guy pulled up in a white van asking for directions. We live in a very high-end neighborhood and the guy looked really nice and had a collered t-shirt with an Acoustic Image logo, so I gave him directions. Next, he said by the way I have some speakers this customer never paid for and we have a zero return policy and our company has lots of extras and his boss authorized him to sell them. So I said let me look at them and he wanted about $1,000 bucks saying the speakers were 4-5 thousand dollars. Thank god I only had $200 in my pocket and my wife had all our money and such so he said $200 will be fine. I also gave him a leather jacket. Thank goodness the jacket was old. I hope these guys get busted. I was amazed to find all these postings. It just goes to show you can trust anyone in this world.

My brother just called me. Asked me to look up the Audio Image 6.5. My search led me here. He was approached the usual way and given the "$1200 retail pitch" . I got back to my bro, by that time he was aware that the sound of his son''s walkman was better quality. Just want my fellow midwesterners to know.

Scam plain and simple.

I have not purchased these speakers, but wanted to submit a response to Nicolas Bower who was defending the business practices and saying that they have a legitimate business and they work hard at what they do. Yes they work hard at scamming people. When you are fabricating a story to sell a poorly made item and letting them beleive that they are purchasing something that has more value than it has you are scamming people. If they were not scamming people you would not have hundreds of people complaining about the speakers. The whole structure of the business is based on deception. These companies and the salespeople selling the items have no excuse for what they are doing to people and should not be defended.
