Strength:

I think I got what I paid for, they aren't great but they are fine for easy listening. These are not the hardcore speakers I thought I was getting.

Weakness:

The speakers are definitly not what I was led to believe I was buying

I thought the 2 guys in their truck full of speakers were telling the truth I really did. One of them looked very professional, well as proffesional as you can get selling half ass speakers from the back of a white truck. I thought I really was getting a good deal when I got 2 pairs of the mini towers and a set of satelites for $500.00. They argued with each other about selling them for that cheap, so I thought I definitly thought I had a good deal.
Well now that they were hooked up and unhooked I realize that I shouldn't buy anything from the back of trucks in the middle of parking lots. These "Acoustic Image" speakers sound like Acoustic Farts.

Sound Quality and Value

Weakness:

Absolutly NO after sales service, the warrenty is a fake

I bought a set of front speakers a year ago and hooked them up to my Yamaha natural sound amplifyer....
I can assure you the quality of these speakers is quite remarkable. I can happy rattle my windows till the police arrive without the slightest hint of distortion. At low volume these things sound realy rich. We've had people over watching movies through them that mistook the sound for sounds going out in the room (knocks at the door, etc) so yeh, they're pretty decent. I would happily buy from the white van men again in the future. Only thing to be warey of is the non-existant warrenty. They wrote me out a warrenty, but if you call the number on the reciept, you just get an answer mechine that never calls back. Other than that, they're great and I'm very pleased with them. I think alot of people are skepticle simply because of the unconventional sales tactic.

Strength:

Thank god they sound good

Weakness:

Ah, the white van

I guess we sould all be thankfull that there a good pair of speakers. In addition to the $125 I threw in a guitar and a bass that I never use that they could probably get an extra $100-$200 from a pawn shop. The guy gave me his phone # so anybody that lives in Philly who wants this guys # email me at kevinhunt23@hotmail.com
The only crappy part about this deal is that we all know we got scammed. Look, anyone paying over $400 dollars probably didn't get a great deal but they sound good and there built solid. I wonder if the warranty is any good.

Strength:

They are a good size for a dorm room. Work well with numerous other kinds of speakers.

Weakness:

Were overpriced, but hey isnt everthing on the blackmarket anyways. I never hear anyone complain about the 30 dollar oakleys worth only 2$. This was just one of those pair of oakleys times three, big deal.

I left a review when I bought the speakers in August. I hadnt set them up so I couldnt really review them I just wanted to join in with everyone else whod been scammed. I am a college student so I dont really have money to be throwing around like that which made me upset. Ive got the speakers hooked up and working now in my dorm room and I can say im satisfied. They work well with my other eight speakers in the room. No, im not one of the scammers just posting a "nice" review to con other people to buy these. If I saw the white van again, I would take out my baseball baseball bat and scare them off. Theyre good salesmen, just not good people. Hope I was able to help some of you ease the pain, if not then F*UCK THE WHITE VAN!!!!

Well, I fell for it too. Haven't hooked them up yet, but I'm not sure if it's even worth it for me to carry them up the stairs to my apartment. White Van in the Chicago Burbs- 3 white guys (the salesman was good, the other two were shady looking characters). I'm the proud owner of a pair of the 600SL series. Never been had before, but knew it as soon as I opened the box. Damn. Oh well. Avoid the white van.

Strength:

I kept some of my money...

Weakness:

I was swindled out of $150

So here I am on my day off, when two kids come up with hot speakers, or so I am told. I think the worst thing about being had is the fact that you KNOW IT WHEN YOU MAKE THE DEAL!! anyone that argues with this, read some of these other reviews, the first thing everyone did was check to see if they were scammed after purchasing but BEFORE hooking them up. You don't do that when after receiving a receipt at a store. So yes, we've all been scammed, but hey, it could always be worse. Anyway, I bought the Tsunami series surround sound system, hav'nt hooked it up yet. I heard about the scam, and when i saw the van, they gave me their "boss's" number, which is complete BS, cause their "boss" is a retailer that has nothing to do with the white van sales. He offered to exchange the speakers for a floor unit if i Didn't like them, so at least he's trying to work with me, of course, if they are all crap then its just pacifying me. He also told me that they buy the surround sound speakers for 140, so apparently they made $10 off me. Either this is more BS, or maybe I was lucky. Anyway, I'll find out once I get my receiver. Good luck to anyone trying to fight this, and DON'T BUY FROM PEOPLE IN PARKING LOTS.

The guy said his name was Matt Foley and that he was a motivational speaker and he just happened to have 6 pairs of these in the back of his van, which was "down by the river". We left Wendy's - I gave him a ride to his van and it looked like he was living in it. They seemed to be new products - boxes were unopened, etc. so I chisled him down to 135.00 and offered him a cheeseburger that I hadn't eaten yet. He told me he got the speakers from some friends of his that owed him money, and that they were great. I took them home and opened the box and they looked fine - like brand new units. I started feeling kinda guilty about buying something which could quite possibly be stolen. I mean, C'mon - the guy that lives in a van down by the river sold this to me - not a dealer or anything. I hooked them up as my surrounds and they are pretty decent!

SCAM

You know the deal, White Van, two young males, etc, etc, etc. I could kick my @ss for being taken for a ride like this. I guess that greed took over because I just thought that I was getting too good a deal to pass up. The sad thing about it is, I don't even need anymore freakin' speakers!!! You live and learn and boy have I learned. The first thing I did when I got back to work was to try to find these damn speakers on the internet. As each and everyone of you can relate to, what you find is this site and a whole bunch of us dummies that fell for this scam. Oh well. I'm not tellin' the misses about this one, she'll never let me live it down. I must admit that these two guys were pretty good. I'll check em out when I get home. I can always put them in my son's room if nothing else.
