Strength:

Bass is great for thumping!

Weakness:

Mids absolutly suck! I have also noticed that my two Speakers sound different. One of which has good highs and the other has very fuzzy highs.

When I found out my speakers sounded different, I called best buy. They told me this problem was common... hmmm. I had the weak speaker replaced by them. Now it seems my other one is going out. I like music, so i'm going back to JBL.

Strength:

Play clear, loud bass, look nice

Weakness:

none

A great speaker at a good price. I do not have a sub, so I decided to go with the cerwin vega ls-12's since others on this board have given these speakers high ratings on their ability to produce good bass. I have not been disappointed with my purchase. Watching movies, or playing CD's, these speakers can rattle the walls. I think their midrange and tweeter sound great as well. I would recommend these speakers to anyone out there shopping around, especially if you do not currently have a sub on your system and like some solid bass.

Strength:

Rumbeling deep base, clear tweeter.

Weakness:

Can't think of any..

The base is amazing (as always when it's about Cerwin-Vega) wich makes the floor rumble.
A good tweeter and midrange completes the set.
You need a powerful amplifier to justify them.
Take a week of playing music easy to get them "warmed up".
From now on I'm gonna stick with the Cerwin-Vega brand.

Strength:

Everything great bass good imaging and nice vocals and highs

Weakness:

none that i can see

Great speakers. I don't own them but my friend just bought them at bestbuy for $420 with an extended 9 year waranty and they sound great.Listen to a lot of heavy bass stuff with lots of highs to mostly rap and the vocals are hard to hear with other speakers get drowned out with bass but not with these CV's no better speakers for $400 or close to that price.I love Vega and am goin to buy these as soon as i get enough money.

Strength:

They handle a lot of power and can out out bass

Weakness:

they don't sound good unless you are at a rave

i first bought the cerwin vegas and they sounded good at first, but then i realized that it was only my imagination that was making me believe that they sounded better because i just put out 400 bucks for them. in reality, they are some average subs with a cheap tweeter, all you hear is bass and highs the midrange is gone. I just bought the JBL N310's, those speakers are real speakers the sound Bass Mids and Highs are very sweet to the ear for music and movies although the jbls do not put out as much bass it is a better sounding bass and i easily just bought a sub to go along. so for a kiddy teenager sound get the cerwins but for a real sound get jbls

Strength:

BASS

Weakness:

mids seem a bit crappy

listened to these at a friends house, he was using some crappy kenwood reciever and these things sounded horrible, boomy bass and the highs sucked, then we borrowed a friends power amp which is rated at 400 watts x2 4 ohms, and then these damn things pounded! They sounded like totally different speakers, so if you get these, make sure your running enough power to them.

Strength:

V.Loud if used with a proper power Amp with at least an equal to or greater Watts ouput than the speakers. Be careful however not to Cane them if using a powerful Amp. Fuse protection is extremely useful as I discovered when listening to Chemical Brothers - Under The Influence. I had volume right up and when the bass dropped, although I was lovin it, the speakers weren't and preceded to cut out abrubtly. Fortunately, it'll only cost as much as two new fuses to sort out. Though where you get hold of a pair of these beasts I don't know.

Weakness:

My ears f#*@ing Hurt. I think I need a bigger room

Nice

I used to have a pair of Acoustic Energy 109's which cost about £300. The build quality (roll surround kept coming away from cone) along with the supposed nice sound was pants. Most of the weight of the speakers, which often suggests quality (unless you are being ripped off by some dodgy street merchant)was produced by about 20KG of sand filling the base. For the money, I'd much rather have the LS-12's which can take an almighty beating, without falling to peices.

Strength:

Deep Bass.

Weakness:

Tweeter and Front plate on cabinet

The fuse protection(2.5amp) is too small, I've used 10amp fuses. I got more power out of the speaker, bass especially.
I used an Onkyo 2x120w rms on these speakers, and I got everything out of them.
One tweeter was changed because of fail production, and one just stop working, and I had to buy a new one.
And the front plate on the cabinet makes weird noises when playing loud bass....bad!
Anyways I've sold them now, because I was not completely happy with them.

Strength:

Really loud bass, clean clear sound

Weakness:

the foundation of my house is gonna fall apart (is that such a bad thing)

I picked these up as my fronts for 179 each. They are really powerful and the bass doesnt drown out the other sound like i thought it would. I barely turned them up and I could hear them outside!
Im running them from a Yamaha HTR-5450 reciver.

Strength:

Bass.......Service (I have used it alot)

Weakness:

Running near power handling will cause these little things to catch fire

These were the first speakers I purchased because of a tight budget and my own ignorance of sound. I have the fortune of having a Pioneer Sx-1250 as my amplifier, but the LS-12's dont seem to see it the same way. I have had to replace 3 subs and a tweeter. If they werent in the shop so much I'm sure they would blow out more often. Best Buys service sucks so I started dealing with Vega and they were very helpful. They were unable to tell me why the speakers I purchased werent living up to the Loudest speakers on the planet motto. Anyway, I am looking for a new set of loudspeakers and will dump these off to someone running about 100watts max and they will be satisfied. My metal beast of an amp needs something more than this mass produced commercial plastic play toy can handle.
