I had wanted these speakers for several years and got a good deal on them a few weeks ago and I have to say it was well worth the wait. These babies were born to rock and ROCK THEY DO! Man they are not only very punchy on the bass but they are LOUD! If you have not listened to Enter Sandman on these speakers you are missing the whole point of the song! Granted these guys are not for the faint of heart or those who are sticklers for clarity that comes along with classical music but if you like it loud and want everyone on the block (and then some) to know you have THE speakers....grab these guys and turn it up. WOW! |

The Cerwin-Vega's that I have are the most tremendous bass handlers I have come across in my lifetime. The Vs 150's are the best for your buck! |

I love Cerwin Vega speakers. I just recently purchased a pair of 12s, and they kick out the bass. I have a 500-watt Sony amp., and there is a small bit of distortion at over half volume. They are also very loud. My friend has a nice pair of Infinity speakers, and they sound about twice as good, but NO comparison on base. The Cerwins kick it out. They're the SH*T if you're looking for fat bass. |

I did serious speaker auditioning in 1972...cost no object...I listened to Dahlquist, Magna Planar, Crown Electrostatics etc. I use Crown Professional Equipment since 1970....I auditioned Cerwin Vega's several models in sound room at Audio Saloon and I was struck by the sound of The Cerwin Vega Model 26's which are a two way system with 18,500 gauss DHorm tweeter (weighs more than most woofers), and a 12" woofer. I blind folded myself and consistantly prefer the Cerwin-Vega's that use 12" woofers over 10" and 15" woofers. The 12" Vega woofers have the ideal combination of speed and low end capability. The 15"ers are boomy, the 10's a bit thin at the bottom in a Heilmholtz tuned ported enclosure design. (I design Heilmholtz tuned resonators for Industrial Sound Cancellation systems both Active and Passive). You cannot design enough magnetic control into a speaker which means the more efficient a speaker is the more accurate its rendition of transients. My original 26's had the grey foam annulus fail due to a lot of LP warp- wow...which was eventually taken care of by the use of C-V's DB10 bass excavator which uses a steep 18 dB/octave filter slope below 32 Hz. I currently have a pair of D-5's from 1987 which are in excellent shape due to improved orange foam annulus surrounds and more CD and Mini=Disc source material digital media. I still can not find better speakers than the D-5's....the newer model CV's are not the same sounding to me. Back in 87' Gene Cerwinski preffered the sound of the D-5's according to a factory Rep. I spoke to in California. Guys....clean up your language....not all C-V speaker owners feel the compulsive obsessive need for the 'F' word. PS I designed a HiZ low filter for insertion between line out and amp input that is passive 6 dB/octave slope below 32 Hz into 47 kohm load or 17Hz into 25K ohm load, for Warp/Wow management from Vinyl/LP's. |

theyre the bollox. I like a bit of an adrenaline rush, like I turned the Vs 12"s up to 50 % on my amp and i thought my house was going to collapse. not to mention the feeling that i would die of suffercation or brain damage. These speakers are the ones to get hold of if your a bass fan like myself -they are true boomers and the quality is also great and clear. |

Well now I've owned about every brand of speaker out there. Cerwin Vega have been among the best for the money. I have owned 2 pair of D-3's a set of DX-9's and currently own a set of AT-15's. The AT-15's have been the best sounding speaker I have found in thier price range. I have over 7 pair of speakers right now. SM-155's, Sterling 2003's, At-15's, EPIC Magnus, 2 sets of older Technics speakers(from when they made a good speaker) and 2 sets of Yamaha speakers. I also have various other speakers around. Nothing too good though. Of the Cerwin Vega I have owned I prefered the older AT and D series speakers. The newer VS, DX, and E series arent built quite as well as thier older counter parts. Although the E series is a decent speaker it still doesn't have the imaging that the older ones did. I have heard every series Vega speaker for the last 20 years. They do all have one thing in common. Great bass, and loud as HELL!!!! I am giving this a bad review for the VS series but I think the Cerwin Vega speakers in general are some of the best around. If you own a set of VS series speakers get a nice set of midranges and tweeters (Vifa, or Morel)and keep them forever. |

I own Cerwin Vegas RE-30 three way floor speakers. With the walnut finish and they are the best speakers. They are powerful and awsome to watch DVD movie with. I have them hooked up to a Sony 200watt receiver and a DVD and Minidsic hooked up. Sometimes I hook up my soundmixer which is connected to my turntable and it just sounds awsome. |

After auditioning many loudspeakers I came to one conclusion that Cerwin Vega could not be topped! Some loudspeakers that I gave a spin where Polks, Infinitys, DCMs, Pioneers, JBLs, Energys, Yamaha, KLH, Cambrage Soundworks (tower speakers), Klipschs, and Boston Acoustics. After trying out all of these the Cerwin Vegas took the cake. You have to understand that sure the Cerwins are not exactually accurate imaging speakers rather then the Energys Audissey APS 5+2 or the Polks RT2000p, but hey I'd put them up against anyone of those speakers anytime anyday. Your gonna ask me how and tell me thats a big risk right? Wrong Cerwins can dish it out at high volumes, they'll blow and loudspeaker away, only to be beaten by the its big brother the AL-1000 (truly a work of art). The other companies say that they're loudspeaker companies but then half of them can't even dish it out on half volume. And price for these guys is one hell of alot cheaper. |
