I will be the first to admit that these aren't the best, most accurate speakers on the market, but I will say that, for the price, these speakers are great. These speakers are VERY loud, bass response is excellent, and they are quite impressive musically for the relatively low price. While a $15,000 pair of speakers would sound more accurate, these speakers are perfect if you want good, loud music and HT. Great for parties, and I can't turn them up more than 1/3 of the way on my cheap Sony 60 watt amp without getting the neighbors complaining. If this is what you're looking for, buy these, or the KX-10, which are slighly smaller. Great speakers |

I recently purchased a pair of the DCM KX12's and KX center channel from Circuit City. I completely agree that DCM's are the best bang for the $$. I tested an assortment of different speakers (Infinity, JBL, polk, Bose) and the quality increase did not justify the huge price increase. I prefer the traditional speaker set-up with wooker, midrange, and tweeter all in the same unit. If you do to then DCMs are great buys in a dying breed. I'm running them for my DVD's using an Onkyo receiver and they work great. No need for a seperate subwoofer. I can't even really crank these yet, because I still live in an apartment. After an exhausting search you'll be hard pressed to find a pair of speakers with good quality, full range sound, and a great price for both Digital sound and music. |

WOW!!! You can't go wrong with the powered KX-12's if you are on a budget for speakers that give you the bass you crave without the big price tag. Althought the horn tweeter can be replaced, I can't complain with the price I paid for the pair. Everything else that came close or sounded better with a fraction of the bass I wanted was well over double the cost |

I bought a pair of DCM KX12 series two, KX center series, KX 6 series two, all for under $600. Thought it was a great deal for the quailty of sound. Compared them to JBL speakers and the DCM were much better. They all work quite well as home theater set up. Thinking about get a Velodyne CT100 to add rumble to the set up. Since the speakers are so efficent I can keep the amp output lower and that will increase the life span of my reciever. Heard Cerwin Vegas and they sounded good, but could do a direct comparsion since they were in a different store. Plus the were rated at 4 ohm. Heat is hard on electronic componets. So cool is cool. Will be getting speaker stands to get those KX 6"s off the foor. Look for sales and close outs prices. One other thing I did notice that their sound is far better than the buget speakers. |

First of all. These speakers BASS. By the word bass I mean that thundering sound that makes you check your underwear for crap stains. Is it a bit boomy? Of course. But most people who would even look at this speaker, are looking for that type of bass. People who are looking at B&W, Definitive, Clements, Acoustic Research, Paradigm, and most infinities of the same price are not. Granted, these speakers aren't what you'd call Audiophile speakers. They are for people who want party speakers. For that they work great. For home theater they work great. For Rock and Metal they work great. Unless that applies, you will most likely want to stay away if you like Classical, jazz, and other types of music. These are what should be called College speakers. For that purpose, 5 stars, in terms of speaker? 3 stars. What does that get? 4 stars. |

I Own a pair of DCM KX12 series one loudspeakers. When I bought them I had one thing in mind: BASS RESPONSE. I listen to predominantly rap music, so I need some speakers that'll "hound," and that they do. When I initially purchased DCMs, I bought the KX10s. They delivered exceptional bass for only having a 10" driver. I had them hooked up to a 60 watt Aiwa mini system, and they literally shook my house. I took advantage of Circuit City's speaker trade in policy to get the KX12s (which drop to 25Hz), which I now have on a 120 watt Technics receiver with a 10 band Yamaha equalizer. The Yamaha really brings out the highs and adds definition to the bass. Overall, you can beat the value presented by DCM. I paid $388 for the pair. If you want some reall oomph! on your bass, DCM is the best choice |

I ordered up a pair of these babies for $549.95 from www.cyberteria.com. I listened to them at Circuit City before buying and they are the best value for your money. The bass that these things kick is phenomenal!! |

Plain and simple, DCMs ROCK! I own a harman kardon avr 40 w/ the 8350 cd player, and there is no other speaker that i would hook up other than these. If you are going for absolute deafening bass that'll make your neighbors wet your pants, or great sound quality, these are winners. I just recently picked up the new Dave Mathew's live cd and the sound quality almost brought me to tears. For roughly $400 a pair, the depth and spaciousness of the the sound is amazing. I live in college too so these are a match made in hevean. You hear everyone pumping out 100 watts plus and you say that sounds ok. You get yourself a good reciever and these, you will blow them all away. Tight bass, low distortion, great mids and highs, you can't beat 'em. I'd give a 6th star if they'd let me |

Okay, first of all, sure these may sound like crap when compared to a $2,500+speaker system, but for under $400 a pair, they literally can't be beat. Accurate midrange, incredibly low, driving, gut-churning bass, and clear treble. I went to a local Circuit City and Best Buy, expecting to pay around $800-$900 for an Infinity or Bose setup. I listened to every speaker system in each store that was under $1000, and even the smaller, cheaper DCM's sounded better than many more expensive speakers. I was sure there must be some downside, and I listened to these and other speakers for nearly and hour and a half, probably driving the store associates crazy. You may ask why I spent so long, well, I'm 14 years old working a minimum-wage job, and money doesn't come too easily. Now you're saying, "What's a 14 year old punk know about high-quality stereo?" Well, I've been through a LOT of equipment, and I feel I know as much or more than many adults. I've read many books, and have built several speaker projects, and assisted in a few mobile installs. In short, these speakers are amazing for the money. |

I listened to several speakers in my price range and did a lot of research online. I was impressed by the ratings these speakers received on this site.At $189.00 these were about the least expensive that I listened to. |
