Excellent speaker. Has total of two voice matching controls. I cannot find a similar quality speaker at such a low price point (see other post for range) (bought mine at onecall.com).

Strength:

Incredible speaker for under $200

Weakness:

for this kind of money? none

I have this speaker in my surround system and I love it. Just found them for $170 with FREE shipping at mercata.com (new member bonus $50 off for one more day). Buying a couple for gifts. Go to mercata and buy this speaker now, the more people who buy it, the lower the price goes! Sales on til midnight i think. There are far better speakers out there, but not in this price range.

bought the cc-3 from shop4.com for $216 delivered. very solid and heavy, 2 voice matching controls. dialogue comes in clear. not much bass which is ok for a center speaker. circuit city is selling them for $400 which is a rip off. i think $216 is a great deal but would not pay anymore for a center channel. the stand that comes with it is nice and solid. only the grill on the speaker isn't that great just as the rs-3. polk's are usually made with better materials with a better fit and finish. the grills are a little on the loose side on the rs-3, the cc-3 were better. i don't think they are 91 db spl for sensitivity either as the rs-3's are rated at 89 and they seem more sensitive, but maybe because it's the dolby processing and the fact the cc-3 only go down to 80hz. i compared the cc-3 to other centers (jbl and klh i think) and the cc-3 is definitely the best.5 stars only if you pay around $200+ for it.

Strength:

Great midrange and for the most part, made very well

Weakness:

It seems to have slightly less bass than some other centers... and I'm not fond of the cheesy mesh grille.

I'm just going to re-iterate what most the other reviews have claimed, because this speaker is indeed one of the best mid-priced center speakers you can get. Like some users below, I purchased mine from Mercata (although mine was NOT 'previously enjoyed'. Considering that I paid the same amount for a Yamaha NS-AC143, I'd have to say that this speaker is a superiour product and value. If you're running a poor center, you should really consider getting a CC3, the sound quality is great will fit in with almost any theatre setup. My only gripe is that the damn plastic grille is both ugly and feels ultra-flimsy.

Strength:

price, sound,

Weakness:

a little loud, but just turn it down on the reciever!

sounds great. good voice reproduction, great sound. i got it from mercata.com for $150 after rebate. I goes on sale about once or twice a month, so be patient and you can save a lot of money. So far i have had no complaints. It's amazing how much it adds to your sound quality. I highly recommend it. I am using a yahama 795a reciever to power it. any questions send them to clintstoned@hotmail.com and i will get back to ya.

this is a decent center channel speaker. it's just the right size, and looks pretty good, too. it makes for a seamless front soundstage with my rs-5 fronts, and can go very loud without running out of steam. it also has dual voice-matching controls (mid and high) mainly to match with different brand mains, but i figure most people who buy the cc-3 will have infinity mains, so it seems mostly unnecessary.

the included stand lets you tilt the speaker up or down to compensate for speaker position height. the cabinet itself is metal and seems pretty sturdy.

frequency response might not go as low as other center channels with similar driver sizes, but that doesn't matter if you run it "small."

overall, it has clear dialogue reproduction and doesn't call attention to itself while watching movies. i don't use it with music, but i tried it once and it seems to do that fine too.

bought it for $300 @ CC and at that price point it does better than most other center channels. certainly a no-brainer if you already have infinity mains.

Strength:

Clear sound.

Weakness:

None significant

A great speaker for the most important of the positions in home theater. Most movies are dialogue and all dialogue comes out the center channel, so get yourself the best one you can afford within your total home theater speaker budget. This unit truly performs.

Purchased by phone from Uncle's Stereo in NYC (www.unclestereo.com) for a very good price.

Strength:

Very good sound with the price to pay.

Weakness:

Horrible service from manufacturer.

Bought this refurbished unit from Ubid at $180 on Dec 99. The Amp was not bought until a month later. Once my PAI Nakamichi arrived, plugged it in with all enthusiam. The sound was there, but it was like someone had a bad flu. I sent it in for service and did not get it back until last week. Infinity kept promising but never sending part even thought I kept bugging them every two weeks. 7 months to get the center channel speaker fixed. The CC3 sound is much better than the E76C, which I borrowed from friends while waiting for mine to be fixed. Sound is much clearer. Probably would not buy anything from Infinity again.

Strength:

Crisp, Clean, Responsive Sound

Weakness:

it's a big center channel and pretty heavy

I'm using RS-4 as fronts with the CC-3. The CC-3's matching feature is very nice. During movies, where the sound pans, the switch between speakers is almost inaudible. I went shopping for speakers for my sister at Bust Buy, and I couldn't believe how poorly even the best KLH sounded in comparison.
The clarity and crispness of the sound is much better than a CC-2, and never buy a CC-1. It doesn't distort with loud music, and highs are absolutely breathtaking. With music, it doesn't play lows, but that's why I have a sub. The main thing I noticed between CC-2 and CC-3 is the fullness of sound, especially the highs, the CC-3 has.
I've had this speaker for around 13 months and I don't remember how much I paid for them, but it was well worth every penny. The CC-3 has made me Infinity fan. I'm getting new fronts, but the CC-3 is staying :)

I am purchasing this as a result of having auditioned the Infinity line, and the glowing comments here. I found the lowest price at mercata.com. The price is $179. This reflects a new buyers $50 sign up rebate, and free shipping. The offer will last until December 31. This is the Powerbuy that one of the contributors to Audioreview.com mentioned that he missed.

Anyone interested in joining this Powerbuy has until 12/31/99 to sign on at mercata.com. Do a search on 'infinity'. More buyers will drive the price even lower.
