Got the CC-3 from Mercata on a power-buy, and got another 50 dollars off as a first time buyer. End cost was $165. I'd heard this speaker in the local appliance store, along with others. It sounds better in my home on my TV which is nestled inside of an entertainment center. I replaced a 3 year old 2-way Boston center which was much smaller. The sound is much better--more detail and a bigger sweet spot. For less than 200 bones, you can't beat it. In fact, I'm not sure you can beat it for more than that. It makes everything up front sound more rich and full--it's hard to tell if the sounds are coming from it or from the main speakers. Great center channel.

Voice Matching Controls(does it work?)

This is an excellent speaker if you can get below $200.00
I purchased mine through Mercata. The sound quality is
so clean and crisp.

The speaker is quite LOUD. Which is nice since I prefer
to hear more vocals then all the background sound effects
in certain movies. You have to turn the volume up to hear
the vocals and then turn it down when the sound effects
come on.

The SM video is great as well but not as crisp as the CC-3.
Also, I hear very little or no difference when adjusting the Voice Matching Controls.

After reading the million reviews about getting this awesome speaker from Mercata, i decided to keep my eye on the site and grab one when the price was right. Got one for about $170 (first time buyer), BUT BEWARE ! Mercata buyers - when i opened the box, i discovered my speaker had been "previously enjoyed". if i had bought it locally, i would have stormed back to the store and demanded a new one. i was perfectly happy with the unit, so i decided to forget about it and just enjoy the sound.
While i have your attention, i will advertise for the part of my system i am MOST happy with, the main speakers - a pair of JBL CF-120's. they're huge, but as far as sound - there is nothing out there that compares for under $1500, i got mine for $300.

Circuit City says this is the best center they carry, and on sale for $289.00. BestPriceAudioVideo.com sells for $210.00. This unit is simply excellent. Very good sound quality, clarity, and volume. A Ten!

Very realistic sounds

Size...But who cares when it sounds this good!

I was debating on getting the CC-1, but after reading the reviews here, I opted for the CC-3, and I am glad I did! When you open the box, you can tell by the size that this speaker was built for sound. It is big. I had just bought a new sony str-db830 and wanted to get rid of the KLH "freebie" surround speakers that Best Buy gave me 5 years ago. What a difference a center speaker can make! Everything sounds so realistic and clear. It has 2 adjustments for fine tuning the mid and tweeter, but I am no expert and think it sounds great just in the mid positions. I am using Cerwin Vega D5 for front speakers, Infinity D2 for satelites, and a Yamaha powered sub. The CC3 is definately worth buying, you wont be sorry in my opinion.

Bought this speaker to replace my Minuette CC. Finagled Circuit City open box price down to $179. While I was at it, also scored a pair of RS8's for $179 ea. I love the clarity of this center. Can hear dialog and sounds I hadn't heard with my previous CC. Tina Turner, Eagles, Roy Orbison sound like they're in the room now. Fantastic vocal tones for both music and movie DVD's.

Perfect match for my other Infinity speakers - I'm thrilled!

Sounds great with my old Infinity RS-6. I have played around with the controls and was able to blend it nicely. Movies sound great. I have a new Sony STR-DA777ES and NHT SubOne subwoofer with even more controls for tweaking. One of these days I will settle in the right settings for all the "knobs"
The sound is pretty awesome even if I don't reach that perfect setting though! I bought it refurbished at uBid for $247.

HIGH END HOME THEATRE ROOM. I LIKED IT A LOT BETTER THAN
THE MORE EXPENSIVE POLK CS400.GOT A GREAT DEAL THROUGH MY
EMPLOYEE PURCHASE DEAL. I USE IT WITH MUSIC TOO IN 3-STEREO
MODE. I USE BOSE AM-5'S FOR MY FRONT AND WILL UPGRADE THOSE
TO NEW INFINITY'S THIS WINTER.(THE BOSE WILL BE NICE REARS)
