I was recently in the market for some high end speakers. I did the normal auditioning and testing, and found that these were my favorite speakers. At first I was interested in the Definitive Technology ProTower 400's, I thought I liked these speakers, and was ready to buy them, until I got a chance to really listen to the Overture 3's. I buy my home theater components from a good friend of mine( he owns a company called SoundPros, his web page is www.soundpros.com). I consider him to have a very good ear for what is good and what is bad along the lines of speakers. These are the speakers that he himself owns and loves.....so, to make a long story short, I went to his house about 3 times a week just to hear these speakers. I now own them, and love them........just give them a listen, you'll find out what I'm talking about!! |

I have these speakers as my front left and right with the Overture 1s for center & rears. I love the 3s. I've had these for a year now and am still amazed at the clarity without being too bright. I use a Sunfire sub for home theatre as these 3s are not enough in the base department for home theatre. Alone they are great for music. I could get marginally better speakers but at 3 or 4 times the price. My only complaint is that the powered woofers turn off too quickly (5 min) but I have been told that this is due to capacitors that can be replaced. I will be taking them in this week to have them fixed. I'm told that this will raise the cutoff time to 90 minutes. Then they will be perfect. |

I have enjoyed the Overture 3's for about a year now, and I have to honestly say that I enjoy listening to them more today than yesterday. When I was shopping for my new speakers I listened to about every pair of floor standing speaker made, with-in my price range,$3,000.00 pr. I kept being drawn back to the great sound of the Overture's. This was not a fast process either, it took a lot of months to finally make the call. My music seemed alive! The movies never sounded so real. Since buying these speakers I have replaced my center channel speaker, [was a Bose VCS 10] with Infinity's CC3, and the surounds are now Infinity's Quadrapoles, WHAT A SET-UP!! These are definitely my last speakers, ever! And not just because my wife says so either. |

I recently auditioned the Infinity Overture 3's at circuit city. I had done a great deal of research on the net and had narrowed my search to these Infinity's. I listened to some jazz first and was completely overwhelmed by what I heard. These things were fantastic. I thought my seach was over. Then I tried some Nine Inch Nails with some serious bass. What a disappointment. These things just died when the bass hit. I thought that with 4 long throw bass drivers and a 300 watt amp per speaker, that bass would be the least of my worries. I was sorely disappointed. If you listen to only classical and/or jazz, by all means buy these speakers. As I said, the top end of these speakers is spectacular and at moderate levels the bass ig pretty good. However, If you listen to anything with a decent amount of bass, you'll be disappointed. Several of the reviews I read mentioned the great bass these put out. I think the word "thunderous" was even used. Well I've heard thunder and I've heard these speakers. I can say with no hesitation that there is a huge difference between the two. I'd give the top end a 10 and the bottom end a 5. Caninet construction would also be a 5. I agree with many people's assesment of the quality of the screen's construction. The ones at the two Circuit City's I visited were broken in several places. Granted, these poor speakers weren't treated with much care, but I think their condition is an indication of a problem in their design. My problem now is to find a speaker with great bass, that will live up to my new expecations of how a great high and mid range can really sound. |

I bought the o3 a few months ago. The sound is incredible. My friend questioned why anyone would pay so much for a pair of speakers. I think he answered that question when, while listening to music, he was unable to tell if it was the speakers or real sound from outside. I think that is the true test of great speakers - like the saying goes - is it real or is it memorex (or in this case the speakers). The sounds are crisp and precise. In some songs, I can even hear the sound of the guitarist fingers moving about the neck of the guitar. Absolutely incredible. Ever song is like a new journey. Even cds I have owned for 10 years sound new and improved. These speakers were worth every penny and then some. |

Strength:
Able to hear every little detail
Weakness:
none that I can find My son just bought these speakers for me for Christmas. I was extrememly surprised when I got them hooked up. I had never heard anything so life-like in my life. The music coming from these speakers was unbelievable. I can't thank my son enough for getting these speakers for me. They are wonderful. He told me that you can get them for $1275 for the pair on the internet. Sounds like a great deal. Similar Products Used: Klipsch floor standing speakers |

Strength:
Damn good speaker This message gos out to the "casual listener." You do not know what you are talking about. To much bass? There is over 30 reviews that say different. There are as many reviews that say that the highs are too good, or to loud to stand. Please if you are going to compare speakers, please listen to more than two pairs at Circuit City. |

I JUST PURCHASED A SET OF 3'S FROM UBID FOR AROUND $550.00. THEY WERE QUOTED AT (EH GAD) CIRCUIT CITY FOR 1300.00 ON SUPER SALE. I AM VERY IMPRESSED. THE AMOUNT OF SOUND THAT THESE SPEAKERS PRODUCE EVEN WITH MY CHEAP SONY RECEIVER IS IMMENSE. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THE SAME AS OTHERS HERE. THE SPEAKER STANDS (SCREWS)ARE HORRIBLE. I AM THINKING OF BUILDING MY OWN. BUT THAT IS A SMALL PRICE TO PAY FOR GREAT SOUND. I FOUND THE BEST SETTING IS TO TURN THE SUBWOOFERS DOWN TO NORMAL OR BELOW. I LOVE BASS AND WILL PROBABLY ADD 2 MORE FOR MY THEATRE SET UP IN REAR. OVERALL 4 PLUS STARS |
