the sound, my compassion

I got scammed too, I thought I was getting a good deal and helping out a couple of hard luck installers. Heh. If anyone else is in the Denver area, email me. I would really like to track these guys down. By the way I did some tests and the speakers I got (the Mts 2328s) handle 195 watts peak, and run around 87 watts rms...if anyone is curious.

THEY SUCK!!!!!

I was scammed too. Three white guys pulled up to me in a white van and said he was in a hurry. He just got back from delivering to a new house and said he got 2 extras. I looked at them and he showed me the catalog and showed me that they were $849 each. He said he wanted $600 for the pair, and i told him i could do $400. Then i changed my mind and told him only $230. So i took them. Then he wrote me a receipt and said how bout another $20 for beer. I told them i didn't have it, and one of the other guys said how bout your sunglasses. They were 4 years old and scratched so I gave it to him. I came home to see of the great deal i got and found this website. If i could i would kick each of their @sses right now.

ok system

Weakness:

probably costs about $70 and was made in China. I heard that the punk who thought up this scam lives in a huge house with a giant yacht.

I, too, got scammed. I knew it, but my greed overcame me as well. I was pumping gas at the shell station in the San Fernando Valley. A dark SUV Yukon? or Denali with NO license plates comes up and approaches me. "Are you interested in a sound system?" He too gives the pitch that he picked up 9 sound systems, but he was supposed to only get 7. He "didn't want his a**hole boss to get it" and needed some cash for beer. He showed me this magazine ad on how they retail for $2,500. I knew that it was too good to be true. I fell for it line and sinker. Hopefully, anyone reading this will avoid this scam and remember that there are scam artists everywhere

hopefully never again. Avoid the brand "THEATRE RESEARCH" though I've been told that they have 10 of these no-name brands

Strength:

Great lesson about being greedy and trying to take advantage of someone else.

Weakness:

My character for falling for this.

All I can do now is laugh and say shame on me. I own a business where people try and scam me all day, but I still fell for this. Same MO as all the others two guys in a dark blue SUV pull up and say " hey buddy are you into home theater". I say "yes why" and they say "We just finished a home theater install in a big house and the guy didn't want these high end speakers we were going to install and we just want some money to go out drinking tonight. My boss will just sell them for his own good." I constantly preach to my customers that "if it sounds to good to be true it is", but my greed kicked in. I got a cheap morality lesson I won't soon forget. Why $131? I told them I had no use for those speakers and that I had two home theater systems, one with B & W CDM's and the other with B & W 601's, so I had no place to put them. These guys knew their stuff and said these are not quite as good as yours, but close and used in professional installs. I kept saying "no" and they went quickly from $800/pr to $200/pr. I still said no, because I didn't have that much with me. They said "how much do you have" and I said "$130 on me". They said the lowest they would go was $230 and would follow me to a mini-bank. I said "no thanks, go sell them to someone that needs them". As I was walking into the store next door they said "OK we'll take it. I showed them that I only had $131 with me and handed him $130. He said "what about that dollar", so I gave that to him too. I like everyone else was eager to research the "great deal" I had scored and found that I had been scammed. After confessing this to my wife and dealing with all that came with that, she asked if they were real and what they sounded like, so I hooked them up to my 200 watt/channel Outlaw amp and fired up a few CD's. Well they are not that bad. Probably worth about what I paid. Lacked the clarity and imaging of my B & W's, but better than the Infinity's I paid $200 each for with my first attempt at home theater 5 years ago. Seemed to handle all the power and volumn I could put through them without distorting horribly. The bass was strong, although a little muddy. Voices sounded a little under water in the mid-range and highs lacked clarity. Definitely not $849/pr speakers (as indicated on scam web site www.millenniumtheatersystems.com), but probably worth $100-200. My wife thought they sounded good until I plugged back in the B & W's.
