This speaker is a great addition to a home theatre, With Great Highs and low distortion lows they provide beautiful sound for the money.
Weakness:
Not magnetically Shielded With equalizer settings and some tweaking, these speakers sound as good as it gets. With good High, Mid, Low, and Sub Low these speakers can drive your ears to the verge of bleeding without the distortion of cheaper made speakers. The value was great and the sound quality excellent. My only complaint with the speakers is the lacking of magnetically shielded speakers, but without the shielding the speakers can obtain a better quality than with the shielding. I also agree with the guy below, he explains the situation well. Also the wire in the speakers should never be changed, this could cause the resistance to change damaging the speakers and making the sound quality null and void. Also why would you seal the bass ports, with a 15 inch sub in a case of this size you will surely blow the tweaters right out of the mount, they do put the ports there for a reason, it allows the sub to move more creating more bass, if you seal the ports you will not get the quality that you are looking for. Anyway I love the speakers and I recommend them to anyone who is serious about audio quality in their home. Thanks Similar Products Used: Polk audio custom 4044 Front main speakers |

Now, this is the reason why people would think that the KLHs are good: They have 15" woofers, they are huge, they are rated at 300w @ 8ohms, they can reach down to 20Hz. Now here is the truth: Their 15" woofers have tiny magnet/motor structures, their frequency response can reach down to 20Hz, at about 95dbs of volume, after that there is probably no bass at all, the part about them being huge is just funny, and I dont know about their wattage rating. It is most likely false. Their site says that listing the RMS power isnt necessary becuase the power the speaker consumes is never constant, which is true, but an normal estimated power consumtion would be nice to know. Seeing as though you shouldnt buy speakers based on their max wattage. You shouldnt buy based on wattage at all, but when considering the power source, you should know how much power will be needed. These speakers arent bad for the money, that is why I am not giving them a bad score for that. They are probably the best for their price range, but then again, there is really no good speaker in their price range. For their price, they are made nice, but in thier price range there really arent any high quality speakers. But I wont give them a bad score for that. Just because they sound good for the money, and are built good for the money, doenst mean they are good. They are only $200 speakers. You can get better sounding bookshelfs for their price. The bookshelfs may not have as good of a bass response, but the highs and mids will most likely sound better. Now I'm not saying that it is definate that the bookshelfs would sound better, but most likely would. You cant expect much bass from a bookshelf anyway so that isnt bad. Over all these are good speakers in the $200 price range, but that DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE GOOD. I hope this can clear some debates up. But then again, purchase based on your own opinion. What I say doesnt matter at all and shouldnt. I'm just giving my opinion. |

Strength:
The cheap price.
Weakness:
Anything dealing with actual sound. I didn't actually purchase these but, these are probably the biggest joke of a speaker I have ever seen. These are obviously not for anyone who has a inkling of knowledge about sound. When you first see them you think to yourself; "these are some big speakers, I'm sure they make big full sound." Not the case. There is nothing good about these. Cheap speakers for cheap people. Similar Products Used: Nothing |

hey mr.brandon....you think these speakers suck? well i have a pair of vintage klipsch lascalas that would knock them peice of crap jbls right over backwards. so you compare these cheap speakers to apparently 700 dollar speakers i'll compare your crap speakers to my 2500 dollar speakers.. i think my 15 inch enclosed woffer and my dual compression horn drivers could scream louder and get better quality than your jbls. anytime. |

Everything When i was reaing these reviews, i laughed as i remembered my KLH speaker days, thank god theyre gone now, i Thought about how i used to think they were the best speakers ever. Until i got my JBL's which cost $700.00 for the pair, now hose are some real speakers a 3 way dual 10" design. And YES they are WELl worth the money i paid. But upon comparing my JBL's to my old KLH's the woofer magnet on the JBL 10" was at least 3 times bigger than the 12" KLH, the wires inside the cabinet on the JBL's descent the KLH, Muahahah i wouldnt use that for dental floss. The midrange on my JBL's weighs at least 10 lbs and sound soo much clearer and smoother. I would NEVER buy a KLH speaker again. There are much better out there for the money, get some used PSB bookehslves and a sub or something. And dont tell me that thats not possible because i am 16 and i have around $1600.00 in my system already and its going to be over 2 grand in a few weeks. And i dont even have a job. I undestand that for the moey of all you ant is some loud speakers and you dont care at all about the sound quality BUY THESE!, But dont expect anything too wonderfull out of these or any KLH speaker for that matter. So all that i am saying is There is SOO much better speakers out there, Go have a listen to some. Cant afford it, SAVE MONEY , GET A JOB, anything you will thank me in the long run. And as far as cabinet constrution and finish, The klh's i had were pathetic, seems were very messy, one of the back panels on my old klh's had fallen out for gods sake. I have only had very good thoughts on my new spkrs No seems back panel is even finished with veneer like all other panels, and theyre soo much more solid. IF you wnt ANY descent sound whatso ever DO NOT BUY ANY KLH SPEAKER. Some of the reviews are soo great cuz the ppl have never heard anything that is actuall good. Take it from me i know. Thank you for your time. I hope you make a good decision, and happy listenin. Similar Products Used: KLH 4132,JBL ND310 |

Can't handle much wattage Well, I bought these speakers about 3 days ago looking for a small upgrade to my stereo... I plugged them in to my Kenwood receiver , turned them up, and they sounded great! Then today I tried turning them up a bit more (to -20 db) and *sparks* :( and lets just say burnt out speakers don't smell (or sound) too good... tomorrow i'm going to go take these things back and get some other speakers that can maybe handle more than 100 watts. |
