What can I say...Should have bought two pair. These are great. Paid $400 for a pair at Kadena AB. KG4 where up against JBL L100t, Infinity, Bose 901, AM5(1987) The only speaker that was better sounding was Klipsch Forte and that was to close to call. Won't be getting rid of these anytime! I think Klipsch makes the best sounding speaker. At least they did when they used wood cabinets not press board. |

Strength:
Great bass without compromising highs. Really fills a room with sound
Weakness:
Size in a small room Great speakers -- well designed and built to withstand a nuclear attack. These will deliver great sound not just in the short term, but for decades of use. Similar Products Used: There is no substitute |

Strength:
Incredible sound, Oak cabinets, sound range
Weakness:
they don't make them anymore! I picked up my pair 10 years ago, and I will not part with them,or replace them unless I blow them up!(which I can't see happening) I have pushed these babie to they limit and they still sound the same as the day I hooked them up for the first time. I have upgraded my system a few times over the years, but I still have not found a speaker to replace these. I use the Yamaha RX-V2092 receiver(100Watt) to push these puppies, along with the KSW-15 Powered Subwoofer, KSC-C1 Center channel and the KM2 bookshelf speakers (wall mounted). As you can see I'm a Klipsch speakers Fan. I'm in the USAF and I have to admit it is a bit much for a Dorm room, all my friends love watching movies in room! Over their own systems, which says alot, if you have even seen Air force dorms in Japan (hehee we could have our own audio sale with the extra, replaced items under our bads). I listen to all different types of Music at low and High volumes, Movies on VHS and on DVD, I even play my Sony Playstation through my system. These speakers can do it all, and ask for more. I have had people offer to buy them from me and I just smile, and say no thank you! People can't believe that they are 10 years old, I use Lemon Oil on the oak finished cases, with loving care! and I go through withdrawal symptoms every time I have to pack them up to move. (about every 2 years) If you can found a set of these BUY THEM! The Best 600.00 I ever spent! Similar Products Used: KLF 30 |

Strength:
Best speaker ever for 520 dollars.
Weakness:
Absolutly none. I have owned these speakers for thirteen years. These speakers make music sound alive. they have played so loud your neighbors will think you have concert in home, but still sound good at low volume. I will never sell these speakers, they will go to the grave with me. Similar Products Used: none |

I HAVE HAD 2 PAIR OF KG 4'S FOR ABOUT 7 YEARS OR SO NOW I LOVE THEM I GOT THEM USED FOR ABOUT $250 FOR EACH PAIR PRETY GOOD DEAL I THOUGHT I POWER THEM WITH A DENON 80WAT PER CHANEL INT. AMP THE SOUND IS VERY REALISTIC AND THEY STILL SEEM TO PERFORM AS GOOD AS WHEN I FIRST GOT THEM I RECENTLY WENT TO A STEREO SHOP AND LISTEND TO SOME NEW KLIPSCH THEY SOUND ABOUT THE SAME AS MY OLD ONES AFTER 7 YEARS OR MORE I THINK FOR THE MONEY YOU CANT GO WRONG WITH THEM |

Strength:
Great sound for the money
Weakness:
A bit on the bright side, at times the horn is overbearing Bought when putting a system together for my workspace. Midfi under $2000. It is 900sq ft w/a high roof. Mated with an NAD 2200 and 1155 they get loud as hell without distorting. Big low end. The horn gets a bit overbearing at high volumes. Sounds best at moderate volume. CD's on a Dennon 370 sound clear and a bit bright but Vinyl on the VPI JR with a Benz Glider and Audioquest PT8 arm sounds amazing. Very musical. Nice a punchy low end, don't need a subwoofer. Really open up about 3 inches away from a flat wood wall. Picks up nice mids and catches up with the horn a bit better than out in the room. Best sound I could get without spending several thousand dollars. Under $1000 used I don't think there is much better. At $400 they are a no brainer. Best to mate them with low end heavy components like the mid 80's NAD stuff. Don't skimp on power, they don't even breath hard with the 100plus watts. none for $390 a pair The KG4 was available in the military exchange at clark Ab in the Phillippines for $390 a pair. I had the Heresy and Forte to compare, along with myriad offerings from Polk, Infinity, AR, and JBL. Similar Products Used: Heresy's, Fortes |

I've had a pair of KG4s for over 11 years now and they still kick ass. My AV system over the years have been replaced EXCEPT for the KG4s. They are simply the best speakers in the world for the price I paid for them ($500/pr). Nothing else comes close for the price. I now have added the KSW-300 subwoofer and man does my system sound great. I highly recommend these speakers..you won't be disappointed. |

I bought them in 1991 - for about $500. The short of it is - they are the only componet I have not upgraded in the dozens of new pieces I have bought over the years. They handle anything I throw at them AMAZINGLY well. The passive radiator will make you numb (and your neighbors deaf!). |
