Strength:

Great rear surround sound speakers

Weakness:

none

Bought these speakers to replace sony (old mini hifi bookshelf speakers) to use as my rear surround speakers. I was not disapointed. Overall rear surround was much improved. Could have done better on the price (200.00 pair), but I am very happy with the ksb 1.1's.

Strength:

Treble dispersion, value

Weakness:

None at this price

I bought these for $135 + $6 shipping at JandR am using them as rear surround speakers. They do have a of bass for a small speaker but I don't think they cut it a mains for stereo listening although my dad bought a pair for home theater mains and they are fine for that. The nice thing about these is that there is a lot of really smooth treble that is widely dispersed. As surrounds, they add a lot of definition to the sound and you don't have to be sitting right on axis to hear the highs. Workmanship is fantastic. I am rating them below as used for a home theater surround speaker. I did get a pair of KSB 2.1's for mains and they do have more bass and pretty much the same treble characteristics.

JazzmanI am not retarded. I have recently bought Paradigm Mini Monitors about one week after my last posting. And I will say that these will blow those Klipsch out of the water, and including M&K s-85's, B&W 601 and 602 S2's. I have good electronics backing them up too. I don't understand why you have to go so low to attack someone when they did nothing to you. Besides tell you that the speakers that you hasve I once had, and they sucked. Plus my Paradigms would whoop all over them. The Klipsches are too dark. The Bose 301's can't compete with them, but that's why I got Paradigms. So when ever you want to compare smarts, check on my wall MIT Masters Degree, Ele. Enginneering.

These Speakers are alright if you like dark sound. I am a musican. I know what I am talking about.

I think these are great speakers. I've had them for 2 years and still love them. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but it only needs to be stated ONCE! I hope Bluesman gets banned from this site. Bluesman, don't you realize this is NOT a discussion room. You rated these speakers months ago, and yet you keep giving it one speaker just so you can argue like someone that will never grow up. You have now rated these speakers 4 times. STOP! Although I am quite irritated with you, do NOT post another rating in here to argue with me or anyone else. If you want to continue to argue about this, start a discussion in the speaker room.

These blow the little Paradigms out of the water! Bluesman is just trying to lower the rating to match his IQ!!! These small Klipsch have better dynamics, detail, impact, and openness than ANY small Paradigm.
Only a moron would give them 1 star.
I suppose a Bose fan would or someone that likes WEAK treble.

Take you small Klipsch speakers to the speaker forum and we'll see who's right. I am not a Bose fan. Klipsch makes good products, just not the KSB 1.1 or 2.1's, the 3.1 are okay. My Paradigm Mini Monitors would blow away your Klipsches anyday! What speakers are used in recording studios? Not Klipsches...I do have a Klipsch KSW12 subwoofer, which is awesome. Don't insult anyone personnally. That only shows your maturity level which is high as this speaker should be rated. Anyday my Paradigms would blow any the Klipsches, with clean sound, siky smooth highs, and tight bass. My girlfriend is a professional musician, and when I brought these home she freaked! "How could you buy these things? They suck!"
Whatever man, Paradigm are better speakers. The Mini's out weigh the 1.1's and the 2.1's and the 3.1's. I weighed the Mini's at 20 pounds.

I have seen PLENTY of tone deaf musicians. In fact, it's funny Bluesman rated these at 3 stars until someone insulted him That just shows: he no doubt makes a living selling cheapo para-dig'em's and wants to tout his wares.
I re-auditioned the Paradigms today.
They have a smaller dispersion, weaker treble, and dynamics that Klipsch.
I see so few female audiphiles it is pathetic. Speakers review is 95% a man's area like football. There are so few women out there that actually know anything about the subject that I ignore them anyway.
The Klipsch beat the paradigms easily, and even if they didn't, they are still a 5 star value.

I am willing to put money on the fact that poster Bluesman is retarded...or heavily stupid. I have connected these little Klipsch to a variety of QUALITY solid state and tube electronics. They are smooth, detailed and not overly bright. In fact, the only percieved excess brightness came from the speakers accurately reproducing CRAP electronic front ends like Kenwood, Sansui and the like.
On mid, and good electronic these are grand mini monitors that overwhelm anything by Bose! These with a sub are a killer budget combo that sounds huge, and crystal clear.
They may be small, but within the confines of thier diminutive drivers, they outperform 99% of the market in it's price range hands down!
For value exceeding price I give these overachievers a well deserved 5 stars!!! Other small speakers [like the NHT, Bose, and Optimus] WISH they could approach the clarity and dynamics of the KSB 1.1!!! They all sound like MUD by contrast. And that don't swing my band!

Pat,I am not deaf, you maybe. I am not going to agrue over these stupid things. Go ahead think that your Klipsches are better than my Mini Monitors. I do not make a living selling these GREAT Speakers. I rated them 2 stars, before I even heard the Mini Monitors. SO get your qoutes right. There are some great Klipsch speakers, Forte, Klipschorn(which I grew up with), and their subwoofers(KSW series). These are not good speakers. My Mini's will rip all over them. But I am dont with this little "My car is faster than yours" thing. Because mine probably is. I have never personnaly insulted you. Have I? Read the reviews on the Paradigm site. Or talk to a (educated) Paradigm Dealer. Look at the reviews here, of People who actually own them. I did own those Klipsches for about a week before I was forced to get rid of them. I use upper mid-fi electronics and good cable, no not a problem there. I know a Klipsch dealer who has problems selling these speakers. They are not as dynamic as the Mini Monitors, you never say what Paradigms you compared them to, probably the Atoms or the Micros. I will be happy to take this to the discussiion area, where we can talk about this. In case you havn't read the top here, it asks to take things like this to the dicussion area. So stop insulting me, in case you haven't seen I have not insulted you. I have learned from this site is not to insult people. Get you facts right, I rated them 2 stars(speakers) before hearing the Mini Monitors. The stereo image is better on the Mini Monitor than on those Klipsches. The build qaulity is even better.

Lets take this to the discussion area.

WOW i love these speakers, although i still miss my Paradigm 3mkse3 which i paid 189 a pair. I got these at United Audio moving sale for 88 each, wow these have pretty impressive bass, the 5 1/4 woofer has quite a lot of excursion!! these have unusually good bass for the size, great imaging, very nice highs. 1 DRAWBACK--port WAAAY to small, you can hear the air woosh at relatively low levels. I used to have the KSW 200, it was ok, but i had to sell because of its limited excursion, i am looking to get a HSU replica, but i dont know where, or maybe a good car sub(i find them much better than home drivers) and power with a JBL amp pulled out of a JBL home sub. BUY THESE KLIPSCHES
