Strength:

Huge sound, excellent highs and mids......capable of playing LOUD.....perfect for the house party

Weakness:

lacks a little bass.....but thats what a sub is for.....you cant really complain considering what your getting for the price. Although the speaker covers dont do them the justice they deserve, but they look sooo bad ass anyway Id probably leave the cover off regardless!

These speakers ROCK. I havnt turned em up all the way yet, because my ears just cant take it( oh yeh, have I mentioned im only running on a 110Watt receiver) !!!
Efficiency is the key here. They definitely took some time to break in the horns, but the crispy clatter is nicely wearing away! These are for the people who like to listen to their music loud, and are looking for the best reproduction of that LIVE SOUND FEEL you get at concerts. Best speakers at this price (and trust me this is the cheapest your gonna find them new in the U.S., this price included shipping!)

Strength:

All around great speaker, good bass, small footprint and reproduces many types of music well

Weakness:

Cheap grills, bright highs

I was taken in by the Bose marketing machine and purchased the whole surround package about 5 years ago. The 3 dual cubes in front and 2 single cubes in back. I thought they were great all around speakers until I listened to them next to a 35 year old pair of Pioneer that were give to me by my grandfather. The old dusty Pioneer destroyed them. There was no contest...the Bose sucked! I knew I had scrape up my pennies and dimes and finally get rid of those horrible speakers. (end of typical Bose rant!)

I had listened to Klipsch speakers many times before at the local Tweeter and really liked their products. I purchased a KSW-15 sub and was interested in speakers but my finances did not agree. So long story short I purchased 2 RF-3 speakers as well at the RC-3 center channel to match. I hooked them up to a Yamaha 800 amp that I have had forever and had my first listen last night. WOW was I blown away. Paired with that sub and that center channel I now have a home theater comparible to our local movie theaters. I just can't beleive how big of a difference there is between my Bose and these Klipsch. Needless to say the Bose have already made their way to ebay. The bass is tight, the mids are strong...and well the high's are high. I was not used to a horn tweeter and to be honest it sort of hurt my ears after a while but I have become more comfortable with the more I listen. I guess my ears were never used to good clarity sound. But they are great. I wish the grills were a little more sturdy but they are ok. But anyone thinking about getting a set of these...do it now! They are great speakers and very well suited for many different types of music. From rock and rap...to Blues and classical, they really produce clean powerful sound. Just ask my neighbors.

Strength:

Power, loud, clarity of sound

Weakness:

Looks, low volume listening

This is a monster speaker but it is not for everyone. You have to like the color black and this speaker's bold and gaudy approach to sound in order to fully appreciate these.
They can easily break windows and break up marriages. Their sound is quite visceral, it hits you in the gut. They do not
delight at low volumes. They are big, obtrusive and ugly compared to other speakers in their range. The sound at average to high volume is pretty amazing. It does not invite
the listener in however. My experience was one of wrestling
with a wall of sound. The sound won! The Klipsch RF-3 draws attention to itself every step of the way; from the showroom
to the corners of our living room. The sound is big, dominant and rather obese, actually. Great for nightclubs,
a poor choice for a smaller listening area.

Strength:

everything!- enough said

Weakness:

the fact that I can't stop listening to them

These babies sound as good as they look with the grill off. I can't say enough good things about these speakers. I researched a lot before purchasing these and you can't, I repeat, you can't go wrong with the rf-3's. After hearing these at a local high end audio store I went ahead and purchased the rc-3 and the rs-3's. I have a Denon 2801 receiver with a Paradigm PDR-12. I also have a Mitsubishi Widescreen 46" TV to go with this. I spent a little under $5000 , which was a lot of money to me, but it couldn't be more worth it. This is the first HT system I have ever owned and I will never buy anything but Klipsch!

Strength:

Very clean, realistic sound

Decided on this speaker w/o an audition, based strictly on reviews and word of mouth. Very happy with the product. It s

Price paid includes all shipping, taxes, etc. for the entire Reference package with 2 fronts, 2 surrounds, center and 15" sub. Acousticsoundesign.com offered competitive prices and punctual delivery. No complaints.

These speakers are a great value, and I highly recommend them if you are looking at speakers in any range, provided that your other components in your system don't hold them back.

Strength:

crystal clear highs, midrange and bass. Also well built

Weakness:

the grille is ok

I did months and months of research i've tested the infinities, the paradigms, the velodynes, even the b&w's. Then i came to the Klipsch rf-3. My friends out there,if you want a superb speaker, buy the Klipsch rf-3. I'm telling you that this speaker blew out ALL the competition. There are speakers out there that cost two to three times as much as these babies and they don't even compare.

Strength:

Build quality, value for your $, sound better than comparable speakers at almost twice the price.

Weakness:

Why did I even bother looking? There isn't one.

Purchased the RF-3's at my local high-end audio store, along with the RC-3 center and the RS-3 Surround speakers.

The RF-3 doesn't disappoint. It takes very little power to get these speakers to play at a loud volume. They create a wide soundstage that fills up your listening area with crystal clear highs, and a punchy, tight bass. It isn't bright at all, unless you're used to listening to muddy, boomy midrange and bass from your Bose speakers.

I auditioned these speakers at the store by listening to Rush's Yyz (track 3 on Moving Pictures) and some classical organ music (Bach's Tocatta and Fugue in D minor). These speakers preformed even under the most demanding musical tracks. I compared the RF-3 to a similar priced Definative Technology floor model. No comparison. The Klipsch RF-3 was much, much more defined. When compared to a higher priced B&W floor model, the Klipsch just plain sounded better. The B&W was a gentle peck on the cheek, while the RF-3 was a solid slap to the face. :) They will awaken your hibernating auditory senses like no speaker has done before. They're that good.

These should continue to please me for years and years to come. I didn't realize what I was missing out on before I purchased the RF-3's. I've heard things with more clarity and precision than I've ever heard before. I'm sure you will, too.

Strength:

Great Sound, Good Looks with or without the grilles

Weakness:

Very difficult to move without removing the grilles

I recently replaced my CambridgeSoundWorks Ensemble II and Center Plus speakers with the Klipsch RF-3s and an RC-3. The overall improvement has been remarkable. I expected the highs and mids to sound good but I was amazed with the lows. Even though I do not currently have a subwoofer, the lower frequencies are better than before. I expect with time the sound will improve once I have gone through a complete break-in period.

I plan on adding a good mid-range subwoofer (Klipsch KSW-12, Velodyne CT-100, or Boston Acoustics PV-600) and the Klipsch RS-3s on the next round of upgrades.

My setup:
dvd Toshiba SD-1200
receiver Denon AVR-2801
front speakers Klipsch RF-3s
center speaker Klipsch RC-3
surrounds Cambridgesoundworks surround II
tv Mitsubihi 50" projection

Strength:

clarity,deep bass,power, bi-wire and price.

Weakness:

none,not even the chessey grill

After shopping around town for about 2 months I thought I might have a quick listen to RF-3's. by the way I had seen
them in the stores, but just didnt think they were right for
me.After about ten seconds I asked how much. after the price was quoted to me I knew right then I would own these speakers.
I listen to alot of jazz,R&B and some Rap these speakers handle everyone of these type of music very well.
Good tight bass, nice clear highs.(dont know all the tech. terms but it sounds real good).
I like to listen to my music pretty loud,I thought at first that they sounded much better this way,but the I up graded my receiver and bi-wired the speakers, sounds just as good at low levels as they do at high levels.
I highly recomemed these speakers to anyone.
If your having problems with any type of sound on these try bi-wiring the set. It made a world of difference for me.
And for those of you who have a problem with the grill I have the answer. Put the grill on the speaker and leave them alone, just enjoy the great sounding speakers that you got at a great price.

Strength:

Clarity,Detail,Soundstage,Power

Weakness:

The grills are a bit flimsy(But wouldn't you like to look at those beautiful copper cones anyway?)

The first time I heard these,I was blown away. The second time I brought a disc, Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Riviera Paradise". Right after hearing that I wanted these speakers.
It sounded as if Stevie was right in front of me,not a pair of speakers. The clarity and the detail is incredible.
I don't know why people are saying there is a lack of bass,
the bass isn't boomy,it is accurate, the way bass should sound.

These have more than enough power, and it can be deceiving.
It's usually louder than you think it is,because of their clarity.Even at low volumes they are very detailed.
They are very efficient. I can't believe that Klipsch is selling them at this price. These will be the last speakers I own.
