Strength:
Slim size, unbelievable clarity, and clear bass.
Weakness:
None. I bought these speakers a little over a month ago and I was shocked at how clear and crisp they sounded. They took about 40 hours to fully break in, but when they did it was amazing. If you listen to music with a lot of acoustics in it, it is almost like a guitar is right there. It doesn't have an immense amount of bass, but it is clear, which is great if you have seperate powered subwoofer, because then the mids are not drained out. It is crazy how the horn tweeter can make that much of a difference in clarity for the highs, but it can indeed. I am planning to buy the whole reference series in the short future and I think I may even buy another pair of these for the back. I mean for the money these are amazing. If you have up to 800 dollars to spend on fronts, these are the ones for you. |

N/A I have always been a really big fan of music and am always searching for the best way to hear it. When I ran across the RF-3's from Klipsch, I couldn't stop myself from buying a pair. |

full sound - not to wide of a speaker great sound - top it off with a KSW-12 it is a very rich and full sounding speaker. I already had a RC-3 and a pair of the RS-3. All purchased on line - saving me plenty of cash. Klipsch is a very clean sounding speaker - I have a Denon AVR-3801 running my system. Similar Products Used: boston acoustic, infinity |

Strength:
Excellent bass, and incredible soudstage imaging.
Weakness:
Poor grille attachment, cheap looking consumer-level vinyl woodgrain finish. Excellent bass, I don't think that these speakers will require a sub woofer for stereo-music listening. I was amazed at how much and how deep the bass reproduction was. The mid & highs are well defined with an incredible sound stage. I listened to some very pricey B&K's and had to really push them to get anything out of them. They were way too dead. I tried several models, and wasn't impressed. The monitor audio's were better but still to plain sounding and could not generate home theater level sound - I like it LOUD! If you like the DynAudio or Legacy towers and can't afford them, this is your alternative! Buy four and one center and you can charge the neighbors for auditions! The only downside (I should knock off 1/2 of a star) is that they don't offer thier veneer finishes on these. I know it would add to the price, but they deserve to look as good as they sound! |

Strength:
Work well with low powered, single-ended tube amps.
Weakness:
No real low bass. I've never been a Klipsch fan in the past -- their older horn designs were seriously colored to my ears. But I do like the sound of a good horn system, and after learning about the new alum. drivers in the Reference series, I had a definite interest in hearing them. My dad and I borrowed a pair of RF-3 and listened to them in his large living room. We connected them to my Decware SET tube amp and were quite impressed with the smooth, detailed sound. These speakers don't seem to present too great of an impedence load, so they mate well with low-powered amps. The integration between the tweeter and woofers was quite seemless. Bass was tight and quick, although it did not extend REAL low; models higher in the Reference line offer built in subwoofers. OVerall, I was quite impressed! Tube fans take notice... I just purchased the RF-3 about 2 months ago,at first I was not sure if I liked the way the horn tweeters sounded on music but loved them for HT,then I purchased Eagles Hell Freezes Over on DTS and the sound was great.I just wish there was more music on DTS. |

Strength:
Big room filling sound
Weakness:
Slight lack of detail in mids and highs Big room filling sound, but with a slight lack of detail in the mids and highs compared to the bigger Klipschs or Bostons. Bostons had a narrower soundstage. Similar Products Used: Larger Klipschs, Boston Acoustics |

Strength:
These speakers are simply awesome! They are very efficient and can be driven with a very small amount of power. I bought the set along with the a RC-3, and a set of RS-3's. I am driving them with a Denon 3300 AVR and the whole setup is simply incredible. To really appreciate their effectiveness, check out a DVD like "Saving Private Ryan" or "The Matrix". When listening to cd's playing through my Denon DCM 460 the clarity is almost overwhelming. I would definately recommend these speakers to anyone interested in great sound quality. If you want your friends to drool with envy over your system, these speakers simply can not be beat. They are great looking and will blow their socks off!
Weakness:
The only apparent weakness is the loss of deep bass. Of course this is easily fixed by adding a subwoofer, but is not really needed except for those explosions and roars found on DVD's. Even then most will not notice. Buy these speakers (Enough said) Similar Products Used: Cambridge Soundworks Tower II's (They suck) |
