I was searching for High- End loudspeakers for over 6 months. I took all the related magazines and after consideration about the price tag I decide to review 8 different loudspeakers almost near the $3500 limit. I wanted a speaker capable to play all kind of music and also home theater soundtracks. I own the Classe CAV 150 amplifier , one of the best sounding amplifiers in the market. Therefore I wanted a loudspeaker with extremely clear midrange, powerful bass and smooth treble. Classe can take a loudspeaker to its limit when played in high levels, most of the speakers I tested had problems in movies like Godzila (one of the most demanding soundtracks ever made), DTS Daylight etc |

I auditioned the Mirage OM6 at Tweeter, it was the best sounding speaker I have ever heard. But they want $2900 for the pair. I came across a mail order place called Tatum home Electronics (tamemelectronics.com). They seem to have fantastic prices all speakers including the OM6's at $2025 a pair. Has anyone ever heard of this company or bought anything from them. I am always hestitate to buy mail order but I will save over $1000 buying my complete system from them rather than Tweeter. Oh I give these speakers a big 5 STARS |

I purchased the OM-6 after serious comparison in the up to $3000 range. Open, accurate, detailed, clean and uncolored throughout entire listening range. I listened to Hales, they sounded weak and boxy with little bottom end; Paradigm Reference 100s were big, boomy and tiring headache boxes; B&W CDM 7SEs were clean, accurate and detailed but lacked borrom end and were boxy sounding. NHT 2.9s were a close second to the OM-6 but could not deliver the open "live music" quality I was looking for. I paid $2,250.00 and am extremely satisfied. |

Hello audio-hometheatre buffs. I was fortunate enough to have the assistance of a true salesman. When I picked up my first seperates piece, this gentleman guided me to an Adcom GFA 7000 THX amplifier. Then he told me that because this is a very forward, revealing amplifier that it would operate very well with the MirageOM6 loudspeakers. These list for 3000 dollars a pair, I only paid 2,160 a pair, also purchased a set of OM-10s for the rear and an OM-C2 for my center. Needless to say this is a world class setup in terms of value. These speakers will play unbelievably clean and loud with no distortion. Soundstage is HUGE ,devoid of any real sweet spot. I guess you could describe it as an accoustical bubble of sound. The OM-6s really seem to image very well, especially for a bipolar design. One of the other great things about this speaker is its built in 150 watt mosfett driven amp. for its twin 8" side firing subs in the bottom. That really helps take a lot of stress off my amplifier, allowing that to drive the upper frequiencies, the tweeters are especially soft sounding due to Mirages blending of materials. The overall fit and finnish of these are black with gold feet and frequiencie controlls; gorgous. All I have left to do is thank a very knowledgible salesman, and thank Mirage for a wonderfull product. |

I heard these speakers and thought they were awful. The powered sub is boomey and takes away from the mids.Your better off with used M3's or M1's. |

These are magnificent speakers but I believe that only high end electronics do them justice.I originally matched them with Marantz AV 600 and MA 500s. While this was acceptable it failed to highlight the potential most reviewers referred to. I am now using a Proceed AVP utilising the Mark Levinson DACs employed on the main chanels of this pre-amp/processor...the result is superb .Imaging and soundstage are first rate and the mid-range which had sounded somewhat congested at times previously has truly opened up. Due to built in subs( which I prefer run via the line in connection)the temptation exists to skimp somewhat on the amplification..if you want true sonic nirvana dont fall to this . An unreserved 5 star commendation. |

I do not own a pair of OM-6. Presently, I ended up with a great pair of Martin Logan Aerius i after shopping around in order to replace my PSB Stratus Gold only because they would not fit our new decor! |

I can't find any perfect speakers for $3000. The Mirage is as good as it gets at this price point for my ears and listening tastes. Associated equipment:Bryston BP-25 preamp, 4B-ST amp, Sony X777ES Transport, Classe DAC-1, Straightwire MaestroII balanced interconnects, Monster 2.4s Biwire spkr cables. |
