Strength:

Bass, mid range, treble, about everytning, but expecially the bass drivers... mmmmmmm

Weakness:

bass boom in very small room, but this is small and i blame the amp choice for this...

Nice set of speakers, used them to replace my old series mission 700''s beat them hands down and most of my mates speakers, although sound is not great, but this is i expect due to an abused arcam alpha amp, when i find a replacement i will post again

Strength:

It sings with the clarity of fine crystal and thunders the strikes of kodo drums - in other words the dynamic characteristics are apparently wide, contributing to the "how'd they do that" factor when I demo my system for others who have heard about my speakers and are curious to hear for themselves. The preferable and available "Cherry" wood enclosure generates a silent but respectful "wow" when people see it. These should finalize all discussion about which speakers to get for rooms under 20'X20" and come in just under $500.00 for the pair.

Weakness:

That most music lovers will never get to hear these. Mind you it's a drawback though not a complaint, and certainly not about the speakers themselves per se, but about the system of distribution is that you can only get them at certified Marantz Dealers - which in and of itself is not a bad thing but other audio enthusiasts who would enjoy hearing these and want them will never know what they're missing or likely there won't be place near them where they can hear what they're missing.

Sensitive enough to handle Diana Krall's breathy, goose-bump invoking and throaty voice, but ballsy enough to tackle The Who's "Live at Leeds" tracks: "Magic Bus" and "My Generation" along with AC/DC's "Back in Black" and leave me exhausted with the joy of the performances. They are substanial for bookshelf speakers, though not unwiedly. Ironically, with regard to size, I purchased them for my new system comprised of TEAC 500 Series component, which were designed as space savers without sacrificing higher-end quality. The MS-902's cherry enclosures compliment the gold facia finish of the system's components and when in concert, they're a match made in sonic-heaven. The MS-902's along with the TEAC Series 500 components have enlivened my ears to soncially investigate my over 2,500 CD collection as new again, revealing layers of previously unheard of music and artistry as though I'd never before been able to hear. You'll almost never find a good reason to wear really high-quality good headphones again, except perhaps if you're like me and use Led Zeppelin's "IV" to lull you to sleep very late at night. As sort of a P.S., while I've always loved Classical music the speakers and systems were never up to the challenge, but now I shop for Classical music to appreciate how the MS-902's embraced the form.

Strength:

appearance, excellent sound quality, good imaging

Weakness:

none yet

I was in need of a good quaility home theater speaker that could also be very musical while listening to cd's. I am by no means an 'audiofile' nor am I willing to spend over $20,000 for a high end system, I felt these speakers were an excellent choice for me. The 902's are an attractive speaker that have good clarity, imaging, have overall musical abilty and convincing recreation of sound for home theater. I am using two 902's in the front, two in the rear and the 905C center speaker along with a Velodyne CHT10 subwoofer. These speakers are connected to a low power Onkyo TXDS484 A/V reciever(which will be upgraded with another Onkyo down the road) all interconnects are Monster Cable. I am a pleased customer.

Strength:

The overall sound of these speakers is so crisp it is almost clinical, bass is good and strong, very responsive.

Weakness:

none yet, dont sit them on the floor, put them on stands....

I bought the 902 signitures for 199ukpounds, thease were to replace the Tanoy Mercury 2's I have had for 10 years,It really showed the loose bass of the tanoys compared with todays modern speaker.

I now have the 905c for a centre speaker(119ukp) and the 902 declarations for my surround rear's(149ukp), they are bi wireable too. They do work well as a digital surround system, the scene in starwars ep1 where they first start landing on the planet has to be heard to be belived. as a stereo pair the 902 signitures fill the room with very detailed sound wether you listen to the classics or dance/trance.

The overall sound from this set is very clear, crisp and defined. The bass detail really comes into its own when driven (can only do this when the neigbours are out!!)

all this And they look good too.

Strength:

Compact size
Solid build
Mid range

Weakness:

Stick on rubber feet
No spikes

A great little bookshelf. Originaly brought them with the MS904 and MS905C as a rear effects channel. Placed them side by side with it's bigger brother the 904's. After a 3 days of warming them in it was a confirmed with my flatmates that the 902's sounded slightly warmer than the 904's and a tad more kick in the lower frequencies.

Although the 904's look like the 902's with a block of wood attached to the base their are subtle differences, I tend to like the 902's more.

Great build, solid gold plated bi-wiring binding posts.

All in all a great bookshelf / surround speaker. Matched with the above items they give a great solution for a home cinema experience under £500.

Strength:

Perfect detail, volume, clarity, just simply perfect

Weakness:

I'll be paying for them for forever

When I first got these speakers I wasn't immediately blown away, I was just incredably impressed. It took 25-30 hours for them to bed-in and then I was truly blown away.
It was one of the longest waits of my, otherwise empty, life but well worth the wait.
Every cd I had became a totally new experience through these speakers. They are incredably detailed and just to add to that they look truly gorgeous.
In short they are the best purchase i've ever made, my system suddenly became alive in a way it could never be with a lesser speaker. The sound is truly amazing and will help educate you as to what quality sound really is.

I have bought these products 2 months ago to replace my Bose 701 knowing that they are not in the same catagory. I love these cute creatures, they are so real, so clean. My ears were waxed with 701's muds for 7 years. My ears are recovering now, thanks to MS guys.

Strength:

very clear and crisp high frequencies with a fast, punchy bass. They look fantastic.

Weakness:

none so far

After I first got these speakers out of the box I was really impressed by the finishing (cherry) and the aluminium cone and front, looks fantastic. I used Gale 250 cable to bi-wire them to my Cambridge Audio A1 mk3, I also used some gale speaker stands with spikes. At first listening to them the bass sounded a little weak, but after a few hours of listening and allowing the components to run in more the bass became much more defined and very punchy (perfectly suited to dance music that i listen to). Placing the rears of these models close to the wall behind (about 3/4 inches) also increases the bass reflection quite a lot. The treble and mid range frequencies were clean and crisp from the start and gives a very clear, flawless sound. These speakers bring a whole new depth to dance music and I would highly recommend them to anyone who enjoys this style of music. They work really well with most other types of music too but the mid range is not as full as it could be for listening to rock music for example. I would certainly reccomend bi-wiring these speakers too as it does sound great. Overall, pound for pound i think it will beat any other speaker and many more expensive models, and well worth investing in.
