I have now owned the NHT Super Twos speakers for a few months and they are connected with Monster Cables to a Denon AVR 2800. They serve as my front speakers and in addition I placed the NHT ones for the rear speakers. I also included a Paradigm SB-8 Subwoofer to the mix. At first I was a little disappointed with the sound since the sound did not seem to be regular seemed to jump form speaker to speaker in an unnatural manner. I was about to return the whole thing. However I knew that the speakers need some time to break in. They now did and I must confess I have never thought that my Home Theatre system would sound so incredible. I watched Contact on a Denon 2500 DVD player and the sound was so overwhelming that the books in the next room tumbled off the shelf. The whole room was shaking. And this was not on the highest level. I kid you not. These speakers really live up to their task. They are relatively inexpensive, but produce high-class sound with extreme detail and natural ranges. I read most of the reviews that are out there about all kinds of speakers and I have listened to dozens of speakers before I made my choice to go with the NHT. The bottom line is that there are most likely better and more expensive speakers out there, but so far the NHT have proven to be excellent for movies, Television and music. Anybody who wants great sound should go for the NHT Super Twos. They also look pretty cool, which might be a minor aspect but it will make the wife happy too. |

Strength:
Excellent Value, Accurate Sound
Weakness:
Not Available Yet There is a new speaker series coming out that replaces the SuperTwo speaker, which cost normally $749. The new speaker will step up to a aluminum tweeter versus soft dome from the old SuperTwo. The aluminum tweeter is the kind used on the higher end NHT speakers. The speaker will be available in Mid-June at retail price of $1000. I belive the Model will be called the ST4, not that this means much to many, but the old SuperTwo was known as S2B (B for black). SuperTwo speakers are not available any more at most places, consider yourself lucky if you have a pair of them already, or know where you can get them. **Additional note for those who care, the SuperCenter speaker which matched the SuperTwo speaker is also being replaced at the same time, it will cost approximately $350 or so. The SuperOne and SuperZero are not being replaced with this model change, they will still continue to be available. Similar Products Used: I am previewing the Speaker to Replace SuperTwo from NHT |

Strength:
GREAT SOUNDSTAGE, LOTS OF LOW END, GREAT FINISH
Weakness:
NONE SO FAR These speakers are a great buy and sound better than many models priced significantly higher. The imaging is crystal clear and the spider legs allow you angle them upwards for even better imaging. I bought the whole set including the NHT SUPERSUB, SUPERONES and SUPERCENTER. The system sounds great the SUPERTWO has a downfiring woofer which adds a nice touch to the low end and coupled with their SUPERSUB I am a happy customer. Strength:
very articulate, full range sound for music, video shielded, small footprint, outperforms its price.
Weakness:
Love it or hate it appearance, sensitivity is low, (87db/1watt.)Will not rock da house at a party. My listening room is very small, my system is along an 8 foot wall, i first owned Klipsch KLF 20 towers $1500 list, way too monstorous for my small room, I then stepped down to the smaller Infinity IL 40, $1000 list, they were boomy and muddy again too much for the small room. I brought them back and just wanted to buy something small and reasonably priced for the time being until I could really audition and make a great purchase. I went to the store and auditioned the paradigm Monitor 7, and Klipsch RF 3 towers, I was leaning toward the paradigm but then learned that they were not video shielded. As I was walking out, I saw the Supertwo's for $700 sticker, I asked if they were video shielded, they were, I listened for 30 seconds, they were not offensive, so I said ill take them for $600. A deal was struck and I brought them home. Similar Products Used: paradigm monitor series, klipsch reference and synergy (passive models), Infinity Interlude (passive), Polk RT, others. |

Too say that the S2s do not image well ???? I am confused by that statement ??? Mine image like demons ! After careful placement the phantom center is just that DEAD center with vocals and some instruments . The back to front and side imaging is something to behold ! have listened to straight2 channel with NO DSP just straight 2 channel, and i have a few recordings that sound like they are coming form the surrounds ! If your S2s do not image well than they need to be placed right also they require very good front end gear ! I am using Burr Brown 24/96 DACs with jitter filter inline and and most happy ! Play around with them very minor changes in placemnet can make a HUGE difference ! Also as with anything electronic in nature a burn in period is required ! goo luck and enjoy !!! |

My brother owns these speakers. They are connected to a Yamaha 2095 with Nordost Blue Heaven cable. These speakers remind me of the Empire Commode Downfiring woofer speakers of the 1960s. I thought those were the best to own at that time and I can say the same for the Super Twos. The Super Two's have passive subs. I feel that with passive subs, the receiver that is used should have a loudness control of a bass extension switch in the on position. Such was the case with the 2095 and should be the case with other Yamaha models having that switch. He discontinued using his Klipsch l0 inch sub because it was not necessary to use it. The Super Twos are good for two channel stereo and 5.1 channel home theater use. They look and play like a class act. |

Strength:
VERY GOOD AURAL FIELD CLEAR UNDISTORTED SOUND
Weakness:
MEDIOCRE BASS I HAVE THICK CARPETING AND THE DOWN FIRING WOOFER LOSES THE ABILITY TO MOVE AIR. CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS WEAK. NORMALLY NOT A GOOD BUY THESE WERE ON SALE FOR 500 A PAIR. I USE THESE IN A GREAT ROOM AND THEY SEND CLEAR UNDISTORTED SOUND EVERYWHERE. I HAD TO UPGRADE MY RECEIVER AS THESE CONSUME LOTS OF POWER AND EXPOSE ANY FLAW IN YOUR SYSTEM. ONCE I UPGRADED (ONKYO TXDS777) THE SPEAKERS SOUNDED INCREDIBLE. THESE DO NEED HELP WITH THE LOWS, NHT ONLY CLAIMS 35HZ ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE USED ON THICK CARPET. ON BARE FLOORS THE BASS SPREADS OUT NICELY. Similar Products Used: NHT OUTDOOR ONE |
