Strength:
Home theater, music wwith a lot of punch sounds better.
Weakness:
Is not a gentle speaker I went into J and R music World in NYC to look at something and these speakers impressed me with their punch from 20 yards away. I had to enter the room where someone else was auditioning it. I could't believe my ears.I loved the look and the price ,too.Next day I brought in my wife and "even" she was impressed...so we bought it. Well build and ready to kick......oh what a bass!!!! |

Strength:
The NHT speakers has a very crisp, clean sound. These speakers reveal everything the author wanted you to hear. you will now notice the difference between a good recording and a bad one.
Weakness:
The guys are power hungry, 6 ohms, 88db spl, they need power. But when you give them power they respond. I feed mine from a Sunfire CG and they changed dramitaclly. they are more alive and full, the bass is deep and powerfull. Great speaker, feed them well and they will perform beyond your expatations. Strength:
EXCELLENT soundstage. I still keep looking for things to the side of me.
Weakness:
Doesn't get all the way down audiowise, but enough that most folks wouldn't need a separate subwoofer I bought these from a friend who hadn't used them all that much. He loved them and was upgrading to a higher lever NHT speaker. ANWYAY, from day one I've been impressed with their clarity and soundstage. Even TV cable audio is VASTLY improved by the VT-2s. Some might call these speakers harsh, but I think they're simply honest. They will let you know if you are driving them with junk or if the recording you're listening to is good or not. I like that. |

I have been a loyal customer of NHT for 8 years. My recent set-up were 1.5,AC1, HDP1 and the old SWP1/MA1 amp. I have finally upgraded - bought the VT2's, kept th eAC1, got rid of the SWP1 and nougth the SA3 amp to biamp the VT2. I am running the Sony80ES 4-6 ohms into the VT2's bi-amp with the SA3. What a difference. I have a small room but the bass is awesome. I am still fine tuning the speakers but I am very happy. I have ordered the HDP2's and can not wait to hook those up. My girlfriend even notices a hug difference. Even better I traded my 1.5 that I bought for $400 got $300 back and paid $1300 for my VT2's. Since I have a small room there is no need for a sub - I could see in very large rooms that a great sub would add some crisp bass to the syatem but for right now I do not think there is a need unless I want cracks under my second story. All in all if you want a great speaker that looks cool and sounds excellent but the NHT VT2's.
Weakness:
Takes a little time to fine tune. If you are like me you will be playing with the setup for 1 or 2 weeks before you can be totally happy with the sounds you are getting. I think NHT has offered great products for years with out sticking you with the extra %10-15 for the name. Great values and excellent cabinet work. |

Strength:
Sound stage, bass
Weakness:
power hogs, need to keep them away from the back wall. Let me first say that I bought these speakers soley due to the comments of the reviewers. The only place selling NHT within 4 hours drive did not stock them so I based my purchase on all the below comments, THANK YOU! I bought these speakers through buyitnow.com for Similar Products Used: AR-1, Infinity |

I have these speakers for 1 1/2 years. They rock!!! You can not buy a better speaker for the same amount of money. Easily 5 stars... I would rate higher but that is the most I can give. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the bass output. These two speakers give my Servo-15 some serious competition in the bass category. Imaging is unbelievable. If you've ever wondered if you could really hear a difference between less expensive speakers, listen to these and then go listen to something else. You will hear the difference. 'Nuff said! |

The vt-2 are great for home theater, when a doorbell rings or a dog barks in a movie is so real it fools my dog( she starts barking, which she normally does not do)! |

The VT-2 tower speakers (front left/right) sound great in a home theatre setting with the complementing VS-2 (center and rears) speakers. The VT-2's can crank out the music with clear, uncolored sound. They have a 10" side mounted passive subwoofer that puts out good, solid bass. The VS-2's are the exact speaker without the subwoofer. The VS-2's (center) offer clear dialogue. I didn't realize I was missing so much of the movie until I watched (listened to )a movie using these speakers. |

I heard the VT-2s' with I believe 2 Parasound amps running mono, and a Parasound cd player. These speakers were unbelievably open, they imaged better than the Snell D's that I heard just before that at another store, they were dynamic, and bottom end was satisfying. I heard them side by side with the old 2.5's, I didn't like the 2.5's too much, the soundstage wasn't near what the VT-2 could produce. As for the 2.9's, I haven't heard them yet, but I have been told that they're supposed to be 90% of the 3.3's at about half the cost (don't quote me on this, I haven't heard them yet). |
