Warranty, Sound Quality, Style... Availability to trade up.
Weakness:
Pushy Salespeople... Although I did buy for the product in the end. Had a pair of Polk last year, sold them to buy the PSB's, which are now my rear's. Overall the best pair speakers are the Nuance Spatial 3cls'. They were a little pricier than the other 2, however I think they are worth it. I have recently talked with my original salesman (also named John) about trading up to a pair with built in subs. Overall it has been a positive experience. My center new center will be Nuance for sure. (When can I get a decal to put on my car??) Similar Products Used: PSB 800i, Polk RT1000's |

Strength:
Great imaging ability, powerful for its class, clear non distorted sound.
Weakness:
Supposed $3 drivers. Despite the mistery behind this company, I find that speakers should be listened to and appreciated for their quality and not their brand name. I run these off the Technics SA-DA10N and the speakers sound great, I don't care what anyone says, for the price paid they sound better then my friends Polk's and my parents Bang and Olufsen. Strength:
Good sound, Great warranty(even for so called "cheap drivers")
Weakness:
Sales prick I just bought Nuance Spatial baby 3D's and found them to be as ood as higher end speakers. I checked out Energy, M&K, Wilson Audio and others and found Nuance produced the same sound quality. The Wilson towers were about $12G and were quite heavy(ceramic boxes!!) but the power handling was terrible!! I find the Nuance can handle whatever power you send to them, and if they can't, send them back for repairs at no charge. True the "Nuance rep" is a prick. He tried to sell me using the demo's and I told him I was not impressed at all. He then started to panic and gave all the sales pitches he could. Then he went off to another customer. The other sales man asked if I wanted to hear anything else. I told him to play "Gone in 60 seconds" chase scene (the one with Elenore!!) and I was then sold on Nuance. |

Strength:
I can't say enough about the overall quality of Nuance speakers. No other speaker company can equal the high-range of the Spatial 3.
Weakness:
I bought a subwoofer because I wasn't getting the rumble I wanted during movies. The punchy bass is good without the sub. The salesman in the store let me take the speakers home and do my own test (don't let them do a Q-CD demo in the soundroom). They blew away my expectations!!! I bought the Spatial 3's and three more Nuance speakers (complete surround package), and then bought my sub a few weeks later. My friends bug me about Nuance being too expensive and poor quality, then I give them a demo. Now nobody I know has a bad word to say about Nuance (except maybe people who are jealous and cheap). the same old:sales reps, same music, blah, blah, blah! Simple,I went in to the stores listened to the speakers compared prices and bingo!Nuance came out the winner.Every store I shopped at slimy salesmen, and for the demos a lot of the same music was used"Eagles,Madonna,Pink Floyd, etc." the difference was price, noooo one could even come close to the value that the nuance speakers could offer.Cheap parts(from where again, radio shack, audiowhatsever labs?)wherever they come from this week they sure sound good.My deal an Harmon Kardon avr5 with two spatial 3s for $998 try and get that deal with psb's or energy good luck. Strength:
Loud can sometimes be confused with good for those with an untrained ear, or people with nothing between them.
Weakness:
Cheap drivers which make themselves very evident, completely incompetant staff and sales persons. These people who sell you these things cannot answer simple questions about their own product The speakers i looked at were not their top of the line model (a six foot tower) but the had the exact same drivers, just fewer of them. Two mids, one woofer, one tweeter. The staff were very nice (a little clingy, they seemed to almost jump on me when i went in the store, i guess its better than being ignored though) and treated me well untill i went in the demo room with the nuance rep. He was very pushy and wouldnt take no for an answer, the only time the word NO made any sense in his head was when i asked some basic questions about the speakers. He had NO answers, he couldnt tell me anything about the drivers, anthing about power requirements, and he seemed lost when i used simple audiophile words like hrz and frequency. He said that i should trust my ears. Well to be honest the speakers are very bad, the bass is undefined and lacks the tight punch of good bass, and the bottom is not very low at all, maybe 25hrz. The mids were all right, and the highs were very screechy, and seemed to break up. But they did play very very loud, with lots of distortion, but very loud. After i seen the initial price asking for the speakers i felt thay were definantly pulling a scam. I mean if your selling 8000 dollar speakers, you think they would have some decent speaker wire, or good interconnects, or maybe even some isocones or good audiphile racks, anything to complimnet an audiophile 8000 dollar pair of speakers. That would be like buying a thousand dollar italian suit at Zellers. Overall i'd say these speakers would represent a good value for an average consumer if they were priced in the hundreds, not the thousands. So basically if the price is 1500, take off a zero and your left with what they should be charging. Look around for better speakers, try another pair of 8000 dollar speakers that are not nuance, and see that there is no comparison. Strength:
Nice sound, pretty good with home theatre.
Weakness:
Morons for sales reps. I've seen all the reviews, and no my Nuance Spacial 3C's are not as good as a set of $15G Mirage's, but I think they sound pretty good for the dollar. And about the cheap drivers, I also heard that Bose put 4" Phillips car audio drivers in ther 901's but even they didn't sound that bad. And let's be serious here, markup is the heart of capitalism. I mainly use my set for home theatre and I love them. |

I went into Soundsaroundn in Calgary and bought a pair of Spatial 3's made by Nuance. Nuance has been around for 10 years and have amazing speakers. I was on a limited budget and these speakers sounds as good or better then some of the speakers I heard in a higher price range. Nuance is a amazing speaker, and the Spatial 3 is no exception. This 2 8's and a tweet is a great addition to anyones home theatre of or just listening to music. The tight bass and great sounding tweet is amazing, and the imaging is incredible. They use what they call a 3d technology which provides the great imaging. Nuance also backs up there products with a 10 Years Unconditional Warranty, so play your brains out you are covered. This was a great addition to my home theatre which consisted of the Spatial Cen, Spatial Sub, and Sat 1's which are also made by Nuance. Have fun and go and listen to these things... |
