Strength:
They are not skimpy sounding, anemic or boxy. For the small cabinet size, bass is very reasonable, frequency response at both ends is reasonable, but no better than that. They play loudly when pressed, given the cone material, without excessive break up. There is no trouble driving them with my NAD amp. Never fatiguing if you place no great demands on them.
Weakness:
They unfortunately lack air, sparkle and clarity on high frequencies and the top end is generally quite cool. Midrange detail is fair and no better; but not nasal or boxy; but not overly revealing by any means. Low bass is reasonable. The cabinets protest during full scale output. I am using FULLY upgraded cables and interconnects. These are attractive, stylish speakers. The grilles cannot be removed, as many consumers know. Mine are the light cherry and go well with my bedroom decor. I have them on spiked stands about 30" off the floor. The cable binding posts are easily accessed. Similar Products Used: AFter listening to Monitor Audio, KEF, Mordaunt-Short, Polk, Wharfedale, Tannoy, JBL and such, in the bookshelf price range, theses are as good as any, but don't expect sonic miracles as some of the audio magazines and press reviews would have you believe. |

Strength:
Sonic accuracy!
Weakness:
None I can think of. These speakers are a real find. Its not often that you find a speakers in this price range which are this neutral and yet also lend warmth and musicality to all that you put through them.I did alot of shopping and listening before finally deciding on these speakers.I listened to many different brands and models in this price range and higher, but none of them were neutrl enough and they all had resonance and frequency response/phase response problems. The Paradigm Titans (v2)did not. In essence these are some of the most accurate speakers I have heard in this price range.I am an avid jazz listener and all around music lover and demand that my equipment would not color the music and would only reproduce it accurately with all of the visceral impact the artist and engineers intended. These speakers do just that.Coupled with my Yamaha RXV-1000 reciever, a PDR-10 subwoofer and ADP-70 surrounds (also by Paradigm)these speakers do a bang up job of producing movies and music. They do no produce alot of over-emphasized "boxy" deep bass because they aren't designed for that type of reproduction. They are designed for accuracy and when paired with a GOOD reciever or amplifier, that is what you achieve. Price...size...sound...looks...Buy them!
Weakness:
Need I say it again?......REMOVABLE GRILLS!!!!! I bought the Titans about two years ago. They are V.2. I wasimpressed with the sound at the store but when I hooked them up at home I was in a dream state. Out of the box they beat any other speaker I have tried. As the months progressed the sound got sweeter and sweeter. The over all response is great. Wide dispesion with a full soundstage. On their own they sound great...paired with a PDR-10...Heavenly!. I find they really deliver on "unplugged" music as well as jazz. Similar Products Used: Sony,Teac |

Strength:
reasonable price clear high and deep bass
Weakness:
none When I purchased these speakers, they were hooked up to Dynaco PAS 2 and 70 tube combination. They sounded beautiful after break-in period about 2-3 months with about 1 hour listening 2-3 times a week. Since the tube gear doesn't provide appreciable amount of bass, it was not easy to appreciate the speaker in terms of bass. Later I had bought Marantz 18 receiver, the first Marantz receiver, almost 40 years old, and bought a pair of Dynaco A25. My configuration is based on Titans on the top of Dynacos (of course Dynaco is on the floor) and each connected to Marantz (it has two speaker terminals). Music source is Pioneer CD player (actually a changer with cartridge of 6 CD). The sound? In a word, gorgeous!! with wide space and deep bass. If you can, try it. |

Strength:
Clean highs, big sound from such a small box.
Weakness:
I think everyone agrees... why can't the grilles be taken off?! I bought a Yamaha RX-V800. I hooked up my crappy JVC speakers, and I really wasn't satisfied. I was planning on buying new speakers in the future, but I couldn't stand even one day using these speakers on a decent receiver. I really have my heart set on a pair of Paradigm Studio 80s, but they're way out of my budget, so for now, I decided to go with a pair of Paradigm Titan V.3s. So far, I'm very happy with the clean highs of these speakers. I know they're not super high performance, but compared to what I had before, they're a dream. I'm just wondering, how long does it take for these speakers to be broken in? When I watch a DVD or listen to a CD, everything sounds fine, but when I listen to anything through my computer, the highs sound "crunchy". That's the best way I can describe it. I'm just hoping this is because the speakers are brand new, and this will eventually go away. I would appreciate it if someone who has owned these speakers for a while would e-mail me and give me some advice on how to break them in, how long it takes, how I can tell when they've been sufficiently broken in, etc. I know this isn't a forum, but I'm really in the dark here, and I'd love to hear some feedback. Strength:
For me it is alll about the midrange and the crispness of the sound. What it lacks in bass, is made up with a decent sub-woofer
Weakness:
none With the devalued Aussie dollar, value for money is imperative. This is were the Titans come into their own, superb monitor style speakers for a casual listener such as myself Iam stoked Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
Precision at high decibel levels.
Weakness:
Build quality not as high as Monitor series. I bought the video-shielded Titans along with the CC-170 for a modest home theatre set up with existing Atoms and a sub. The speakers see about a 60/40 split towards home theatre use versus music. The Titans are on stands and produce imaging that comes very close to that of the Mini-Monitors. I'm not an audiophile by any means, but listening to SACDs really brings out the clarity of the speakers. The larger woofers over the Atoms doesn't exhibit any of the boominess described in other reviews. Similar Products Used: Mini-Monitors |

Strength:
Quality, price, looks, you name it.
Weakness:
Haven't found one yet. WOW! I waited two years to put my system together, and found in the end that I was running low on cash. Picked up the Titans to use as surrounds and use my older Wharfdales as the mains. NOT! The Titans blow the old Wharfs away. They (the Titans) are now my mains, I picked up some Atoms for my surrounds and added the PDR 10 for the low end. I am very impressed, and still have some money in the bank. Next up is the CC-270 which will replace my Cerwin Vega as the centre channel. My congratulations to the folks at Paradigm at putting out a very high quality product at an affordable price. WHY can you remove the GRILL????? I used to have the really cheap Polk R10....and yes they sounded great and were a GREAT value, but i wanted something bigger and bolder sounding. I checked out all the speakers the klipsch and the energy and polks and many more. In the end the Titans BLEW ME AWAY. Never have i heard such a great sound from such a small bookshelf (how can they call this great sounding speaker a bookshelf). I fell in love with paradigm and am going to get myself some micros soon for rears.
