Strength:

Imaging, highs, bass from a little box, PRICE.

Weakness:

For $200? Are you kidding?

When I went out to buy speakers, I auditioned three pairs in my house: NHT Super Zeros, Super Ones, and Titans. At the time, I was running a JBL PS110 active sub, which is coincidentally a huge piece of junk, and which has since blown up, been replaced (mercifully) by JBL and promptly sold, still sealed, on eBay. Now I have a passive sub, and the thing seems to match up very nicely with the Titans.

I did all the auditioning without the active sub and with, and the Titans equalled or exceeded all the NHTs in all of my testing. That being the case, I decided that those sexy black laquered cabinets on the NHTs were not worth $150 extra, and got the Titans.

With my system, these things are a revelation. They're as much fun as you can have for $200. Throw on Eva Cassidy's "Live At Blues Alley" and watch your friends start looking for the "real speakers" in the room.

Strength:

Best speaker for the money that I could find

Weakness:

not broken in yet, but can't compare to my ADS

Great little speaker for the money, sound very good so far, hope they will improve with use. They are being used for rears. What ever happened to ADS is a tragety for audiophiles.

Strength:

For the size, you can't get any better high range, mid range, or bass. The price is an amazing bonus for these speakers, which could very easily sell at $500+

Weakness:

In small rooms, without proper stands and placement, bass can get boomy and sometimes overrun the midrange.

The first time I heard these speakers, they were at a store with their usual setup. Once the salesperson played some Jazz, I could swear the Center channel was on. I went in for a closer inspection, and realized that no center channel was playing. The soundstaging (projection of the musical image) is SO AMAZING FOR these speakers. Set it up right in your room, and believe me, you will think there is a stage in front of you.. (hehe..as a matter of fact, to test it out, i put up a fake center which wasn't connected..and played the system for my friends..they all swore the sound came from the center). This holds true for the entire Paradigm line.
The next thing I noticed was the INCREDIBLE amount of CLEAN DISTORTION FREE BASS these small bookshelves put out. I honestly did think there was a sub attached, and once again upon closer inspection found out that no one of the subs were connected.
The midrange and hi-range for these babies are similary INCREDIBLE. I really can't express my appreciation in words for these speakers and their capabilities. For the price I paid, yes $179 BRAND NEW (my salesman is amazing, if you live in the NY/NJ tri state area, email me and i'll show you to him), these speakers are simply UNBEATABLE. JBL, Sony, Yamaha, Acoustic Research (a bit more expensive), Klipsh, Polk Audio's bookshelves cannot compare to the unbelievable quality of these speakers.
These are great for movies, music, primary mains, surrounds, bedroom systems, ANYTHING. They are versatile, and for the price, they leave you open to upgrade to even better models later on.
Currently, I have these as my main and sole speakers. I plan to eventually add floor standing Paradigms to match these and move the Titan's to the back.

Wood Stands

Finally, to better appreciate these speakers, you really need to let them break in first (about 20 hours), place them properly to give a good balance of midrange and bass, and get stands that reflect your need for more or less bass. People who say these speaker are often "muddy" or "mute sounding" simply don't have it positioned properly. The first week I got it, yes, it did have too much bass, then I moved it and changed stands, and it didn't have enough bass. Soon afterwards, I achieved a good balance! Weakness:

nonremovable grills.

I was looking for a good pair of speakers for under $300,
since I was trying to build a home theater on about $750
.I had read very good reviews on the titans and
after listening to them at the dealership, I had to have them. It's a small speaker with big sound.A very good small to medium room size speaker.

Strength:

Nice Price. Binding Post! Quality construction.

Weakness:

You'll need a big bookshelf. Grill is not removable.

I bought a pair of these for my bedroom. These speakers have a nice warm sound to them, but don't expect them to fill the room out. They function nicely in my bedroom set-up. At first I was getting fatiuged listening to them, but I just adjusted my treble a little and that went away. Actually these are the first speakers I've had that sound best with the EQ leveled out. They age very nicely so give them time to break in. Overall they have a very flat response and a surprising amount of bass if used with the right amplifier. I found they need a little room to breath though. I ended up placing them on stands about 2 feet off the wall in order to get the proper bass response (though if you're using them as rears just set the cutoff at around 180hz and they should sing). They sounded a little muddy otherwise. I would say at this price this is the best bookshelf speaker to buy. You'd probably have to spend $350 on the Ascend Acoustics CBM-170's to get better sounding bookshelf. Or $300 on the Sony MF-515's, but those are very large floor standing speakers and not a valid comparision. I gave them a 5 for value and a 4 for overall sound. The only negative thing I'd say about them is that they aren't very engaging. They aren't going to WOW you, but they will provide very nice, uncolored, laid back sound.

Strength:

Balanced sound, fairly detailed. Excellent value

Weakness:

Somewhat muddy bass.

Excellent entry into quality audio. Easy to match but a good amplifier will bring out the best in them. Best used in a smaller environment and at least 1ft from the wall.

The titan presents a pretty natural and balanced sound. MUCH MUCH MUCH BETTER VALUE THAN SONY, YAMAHA, JBL, BOSE, ETC. Need to spend much more to get better sonic quality.

The Atom is great in the midrange but is a little weak in the bass.

The B&Ws are a bit more bright and fatiguing (harder to match-up) but have better sound stage.

The PSA Alpha sounds flat & uninvolving to my ear (matched to NAD & Sony ES).

The Titans (For $500AU) are a good sounding speaker with detail in the tweeter. When I was listening to various rock (I know these speakers are recommended for classical etc.) I noticed the amazing detail in the high symbols. The bass is interesting. Sometimes it really kicks in and other times it is very mid-range type.
The most dissapointing factor about the Titans is that I opened them up and found the exact same tweeter (A Vifa D19) I could buy for $40 at our local electronics store.
But all in all, a great sounding speaker (Apparanlty they sound brilliant in the car environment, as they are quite stable at 4 ohm!)

Strength:

Value for Money was unsurpassed! Comparing these with speakers of twice the price tag was a simple job. The Titans just blew me away from the word go. Even against thei big brother, the Mini Monitor, they still held they're own. Bass is Great most of the tim but on some poorly recorded tracks you really have to get them moving. Top end is absolutely unbelievable

Weakness:

Again, bottom end sometimes needs a little get-along to bring it to life but is always present in one form or another.

I Love Them!!!
I've only had them for 2 months and I think they are fantastic. In my two bedroom unit on 3ft stands they make the whole room play and come to life!!!

Strength:

cheap

Weakness:

there is much better

This is for all of the audiophiles. These speakers are better than lots of the speakers on the market but there is a little canadian company than has been around for 20 years and they make a speaker called the Axiom M3Ti and it is rated at 93db 175 watts 8om and it has a 6 and 1/2 inch woofer and a 1 inch tweeter and it is an amazing speaker that is about $300.00 to $350.00 canadian and $275.00 american and this speaker should be priced at three times that price. It is small and it sounds extremely bigger. You can go to Axioms web site at www.axiomaudio.com to look at it and go to www.soundstage.com and read the awesome review it got but I would also recommend that everybody that is buying a speaker to test them and not take everbody elses opinion and decide on that alone. Also if you do decide to buy the product from a canadian web site don't buy it from audioshop.on.ca because they are dix heads.1 more thing is not to listen to salesman unless you know them personally because you could be led into a place you don't want to be.
I will give the titan a 4 but compared to the M3Ti it gets a 1.
