Strength:

Great Sound to Price Ratio

Weakness:

Center Channel is a little weak

For the money (I paid $300) they are one of the best sounding satellite packages I've listened to. They employe a horn tweeter that takes a little getting used to but once you do you will be very satisfied. These speakers should not be used without a dedicated powered sub. The Quintets don't go down much below 70 Hz. They also come with built in mounting brackets that can also double as small stands. Figure this into your cost comparisons as you will not have to purchase seperate wall mounts. The one thing that could use a little improvment was the center channel. If you are used to a medium or large center speaker you will feel a little disapointed but not enough to turn you away from this wonderful package.

Strength:

GOOD LOOKING SPEAKER. EVEN BETTER LOOKING ON THE WALL

Weakness:

LACK OF DETAIL ON MOVIES, CANT MOVE ALOT, AFTER TIME THEY WILL NOT STAY IN PLACE, NEED A BETTER TWEETER

OK.
1. THESE MAY BE A GOOD SOUNDING SPEAKER IF THEY ARE IN A SMALL ROOM.. IF YOU DONT BELIEVE ME AND GO TO WWW.KLIPSCH.COM AND SEE.
2. THESE SPEAKERS NEED TO HAVE A HIGHER DB SO YOU DONT HAVE TO TURN YOUR VOLUME UP TO 90% TO HEAR THEM LOUD. 110 WATTS IS PLENTY!
3. THESE SPEAKERS MISS A LOT OF MUSIC DETAIL WHEN LISTENING TO THE RADIO OR CD'S.

SOLUTION TO THESE SPEAKERS BUY SOME SS1 OR SS3..

Casual Listener

Strength:

Clarity, Size and capacity. Price.

Weakness:

No real sharp highs.

As you can tell I owned a KLH surround setup, so anything would be better. So the review may be a little skewed from lack of quality. However, these quintets are incredible. They are clear. Even without my powered sub on the tonal quality is excellent.

Being a casual listener and not an audiophile I didn't want to spend a mint on a setup. Needless to say, the quintets can be had for very little denero. I paid about $37 a piece for six of these puppies. I got way more than I paid for. The connections on the speakers are quality. The built in brackets are fantastic. I didn't have to purchase brackets to mount them. Setup was easy. I read some of the reviews so I paid close attention to the process involved in mounting them. If you were to casually attempt to mount these thing you will have a hard time. But if you use a ruler and make several simple measurements you'll be fine.

These speakers seem to be available in huge quantities. They're all over ebay and ubid.com. I recommend picking up a set.

Strength:

Great sound, awesome bass from the sub (KSW-10)

Weakness:

none

After an extension search for a new home theater system, I kept coming back to the Klipsch. Finally bought them with the KSW-10 sub for $650 from a local retailer (matched the price at soundpros.com). Got home, wired them up around my room and put on Saving Private Ryan DTS. WOW!!! They sound amazing. Well worth the money. Sound great for music too. I've always loved the horn tweeters and the level of performance from Klipsch. I would recommend this system to anyone looking for something small, not expensive, and great sounding.

I paired my klipsch quintet microsystem with a Denon Avr-2800. To put it simply, movies are astounding- but there is a downside. Music CD's sound like sheer utter crap. I put my bose bookshelf speakers through the Denon to make sure I wasn't hearing things and the Denon made my Bose sing.

Movies, however are a different story and under a DTS encoded DVD the klipsch reproduce beautifully. I do, however have a problem with the ksw-10 sub. It's fairly good, but lacks punch. So, if you're a movie fanatic, and live in a fairly small space (e.g. apartment) then get these. Music enthusiasts look elsewhere.

Strength:

Amazing clear sound, great looking speakers

Weakness:

Stands aren't the best

This is my first home theater system. The speakers look amazing and look great with my system. The rears were easy to hook up. The stands are vertical and the speakers pointing down at 45degrees. The stands are still in position I left them in. The sound is amazing for both movies and music. The KSW10 matches the speakers perfectly.
I'm very happy with the Klipsch Quintet.

Strength:

size, Great for movies

Weakness:

Music

I recently changed amps to Dolby digital & DVD, and my Bose AM-7s just didn't cut it for movies, especially the center channel. I picked up the Quintet system with the 10" subwoofer, and it sounded GREAT for 5.1 surround, but was kind of muddy for music. The systems size and price are great, good looking speakers, and sound very good for video, but I was a little disapointed in there music reproduction.

Strength:

Size and Stands/mounts

Weakness:

very directional speakers

For a small room (10x16) these are fine for a first home theater setup, with the Klipsch 10" subwoofer. My landlord lives directly above me with a fairly thin ceiling, so i didn't want to go with the Klipsch 12" subwoofer that has been highly praised at this website. I Always use the subwoofer except late at night listening.
havent played a DVD yet, but watching tv (X-Files, and movies on cable) with surround sound is good. i find i am constantly adjusting the center channel volume level, from home theater to music. i also must state that these are very directional speakers. I hung them on the wall, and aimed them, but the sweet spot is not very big. these speakers have good highs and high midrange, but there is some lower midrange lacking. I got the quitent and the center channel for $499 at Nobody Beats the Wiz. Subwoofer purchased separately.

i didn't fool around when using the subwoofer, instead just got the monstercable from hifi.com and i am not wondering IF it COULD sound better.

Strength:

Great price / Value, easy mounting, great sound for their size

Weakness:

Not suited for music

I purchsed these to finish out my home theater (actually, apartment theater is more appropriate). Simply put, these are the perfect satellite speakers for a small to mid-sized listening room. They put out great sound for their size, and they can be put almost anywhere.

---------------------
PROS
I was very impressed at how these little things pick up midrange and they sound very good. Their construction seems OK - I haven't had them long enough to encounter problems yet. They are very easy to set up and really do their job well. Great sound for the price - I was amazed at how lound these little things could get without distortion (at least any that I could hear).

---------------------
CONS
Since they are very small, these things will not work for music. I would strongly recommend not buying the full 5 piece set for use as your home theater. I've seen the entier 5 piece set go for about $600, but I got the pair from Ubid for $110 after shipping. Use the extra money and get a nice center channel with good front speakers. Being an apartment dweller, I've stayed away from getting a sub.
These speakers will simply not do your music justice - no bass and a slight harshness that will bug you if you're into rock or harder music.

---------------------
Bottom Line:
For the money, these things are an awesome value... as satellites. I'll have to change my stance if you're using these as your complete set. Great theater speakers, but lousy for music. You don't need 200watt 3-way speakers for your surrounds - these are perfect. The Overall rating is a 4 because the speakers can sound somewhat harsh.

Strength:

size, tweeter, mountability , quality

Weakness:

stereo use

these quintets i feel are best suited for surround sound reproduction. Currently i have them as rears, and bookshelf klipsch in the fronts with sub and center. They are the best for mounting alonside the wall for ear level sound projection. I give them 5 star, and suggest a second set of speakers for music .
