Strength:

size and sound out of em. nice and sleek looking

Weakness:

stand sucks

I just got the rear speakers for my surround. They do a great job, they sound better than I expected. There small enough to not take up much room, but yet put out plenty of sound. The only negitive comment I have about it, is the stand is very hard to mount. it takes some time to get it how you want it, once you get it like that, dont touch it. *hint* use the tool that comes with it, it helps alot :)

I agree with some comments here regarding the difficulty of evaluating speakers, which are typically the weakest link in the audio chain. Room acoustics, positioning, furnishings, and other such factors can significantly affect the experience. Also, much of what we hear is subjective - one person's "bright and clean" is another person's "harsh and cold". Couple that with the added variable of commenting on a product's performance vs. it's price, and you're bound to get opinions all over the map.
That said, in the case of the Klipsch Quintets, however, I can truly say that it's been the best, most rewarding $375 I've spent in quite some time. I am positively thrilled with their performance, and would heartily recommend them to anyone in the market for a quality surround system.

The detail and projection are entirely surprising. Highs are clear and extended, voices are crisp. After watching DVDs ranging from Alien to The Matrix, I can say that I'm truly impressed. It is the mark of a good speaker when you can distinguish between the different, but similar, sounds of metal chains "plinging" together, shattering glass, a ringing telephone, and falling machine gun shells. Other speakers tend to "muddy" these different sounds, causing the material attributes, to sound the same. Not so with the Quintets, which are helped in their performance by the fact that they're all matched drivers (3.5" mid, .75" "MicroTraxtrix" horn), so there's no stridency. The soundstage is seamless among them, no matter where the source.

Voices, particularly from the center, are (here goes that subjectivity again...) clean, clear, and unmuddy, with enough punch to entirely fill a large room. My viewing area is 12' wide by 15' deep, and 12' high cathederal ceilings, and an additional 10' x 10' vestibule behind the HT sitting area. No problem for these little guys.

The Klipsch Synergy Quintets used to be sold in a package with the Klipsch subwoofer, however in response to customer requests, they are now sold as a package of 5 units (4 sats and the center), giving us the choice of our own subwoofer... another upside for those who, like me, are particular about their audio equipment.

Overall, one needs to ask the "eternal question" when making an audio purchase. You can always get better by spending more... but can you get the same or better by spending less? In my opinion, there's nothing close to these guys under a grand. To get the next substantial improvement in sound, you're well into the 4-digit range for a system without a sub.

As always, your mileage may vary. Give them a listen, and compare them to other mass-marketed packages, and listen. Carefully. For the detail. Not for the VOLUME. You'll be glad you did... and I predict the Quintets will win out.

Strength:

Little, Good looking

Weakness:

Stands, No Base, centre speaker not very clear

Purchased this stuff, as many of my fiends recomended. Well! its good for the price at 600. Other wise It sucks! I tried out B&W speakers, they are little pricy but good looking. I found their grills often pops out. I read reviews and articles about Deftech. I checked up with my local dealer. Man! it is amazing. The Sub is a perfect match. I would say its a joke spending money for this speaker.
Trust me dont waste money. Put some extra money, buy deftech 100's or 80's It is much better than Energy-Take5 series too.
I bought this, sold this to my cousin.
I have a 32" Sony Wega
Yamaha RXV800 Receiver
Pioneer DVD Player
I have Pro-cinema 100. I had changed the center speakers with C2-Deftech instead of Pro-cinema-100 center.
Paid $1350

Strength:

Can be played at loud levels at less distortion....Definitley better than Bose. It's a lot cheaper too...(Buy speakers with your ears...not because of ads)

Weakness:

Just be a little to careful with the stand....

First of all, the three reviews before me are all made by the same person don't you guys think?...It just talks about the same thing: No bass, stand and clarity...Then he talks about the same speakers such as Energy, Def-tech and B&W...Whats up with that? they are of the same structure. It's so obvious that he's just doesn't like these quintets...Anyway i just would like to say that these quintets are decent speakers...In fact, its pretty clear (clarity) because of its horn-loaded tweeter...not to mention that i can also be played at loud levels at less distortion...and about bass...well quintets are not built to have strong bass...if you want bass then buy a tower or bookshelf speaker. I definitely recommend these speakers for home theater...(for watching movies). It's not that its not great for music but if you intend to use it for music then i suggest you get a tower or bookshelf speaker. This one's a steal...you guys should go check em out.

Strength:

Small Size/weight, Fantastic sound

Weakness:

Absolutely nothing...

I absolutely love these speakers! They sound fantastic for home theater. I've got them working with a Klipsch KSW-12 subwoofer. I've got them in a square room that's about 12 feet by 11 feet. These little speakers will AMAZE you! Trust me, don't let their size fool you. Unless you're putting them in a really large room, you will be amazed. These things sound great for HT. When I have friends over and I show them my home theater system, I play the T-Rex chapter from the Jurassic Park DVD. It sounds incredible. Then I play the Lobby Shooting Spree chapter from The Matrix, it's unreal. Then I play the Shelby Mustang chapter of Gone In 60 Seconds, when Nick fires up that Mustang, you would swear it's in the room with you... These speakers kick ass! I highly recommend them!

Strength:

I picked four of these on ubid for 39 bucks each . . . quite a deal. I needed smaller speakers ( my previous were technics full gance 3 way) for my dorm. I mounted these directly over my technics and you couldn't tell the difference in sound quality.

These go plently loud with no distortion -- they are a little waek in teh midrange, but if you teak them correctly with a 10" powered sub they really kick ass for all music. With movies they are spectacular -- they really prove that they are true mini high output speakers. Klipsch nows how to make speakers

Weakness:

midrange -- buy a ten inch sub to cover them up.

no big party sound-- need toweres for that

these are pretty much an awesome deal -- i'm an mp3 fanatic and these chew through all my music. Klipsh makes the best computer speakers available, but my computer is hooked up to my reciever for optimal sound. ALso, these speakers blow awway any computer speakers. The price is unbeatable for a college student like me . . . i like the size, and the mounting options.

Also, the speakers go way beyaond comfortable listening volume (beleive me, i like it loud) without any distortion.

for 39 bucks each at ubid you can't go wrong.

Best product for Under $500 (inclusive of Sub)

Weakness:

Stands

This stuff is good for casual listening. I think I got this for a good deal $489 inclusive of Sub.
I like this stuff for my apartment. Only onething I dont understand is why is the price of this product coming down? My friend last year, bought this at $1200 in sound advice and I am now buying at less than half of his price. Amazing! This is worth for my price

Strength:

Small size (even for satellite), good price can be found on the web with minimum effort

Weakness:

Produces cupped, boxy sound

I took a chance with these on ubid. I purchased the Quintets for $39 each and also a Infinity IL 100 sub for $130 (FYI - the sub is a great bargain). For a $39 a speaker I suppose these are not too bad, but if you have anything else in your house to compare them with, you will be disappointed. The sound is cupped and boxy - like the speakers are at the far end of a tunnel. If these are the only speakers you have in the house, I suppose they will do fine, but otherwise, I would strongly suggest moving up to a better grade speaker.

Strength:

Easy to blow them up

Weakness:

Wife bought them, only way to get rid of them is to blow them up.

My wife bought these after nagging me for years about the size of my Paradigm Monitor 9's. I've always been a Klipsch fan, but I'll bet the guys at the factory cringe every time they slap their name on a set of these puppies. Last week was the second time my wife came home and asked what that burning smell was. Luckily, I can just shrug and say, "Gee, honey, I don't understand either. They're rated for a hundred watts." Just three crossover fires more and I'm free to get some more Paradigms.

I am satisfied with the sub (KSW-12). Used modestly in a smaller room, it really is a great value.

Strength:

Super compact, robost, and powerful satallite speakers. Well made mineral based coposite casing. Zero distortion and faithful reproduction of all ranges (in set). Combined stand and wall-mounts simplies setup. Aesthetically pleasing design.

Weakness:

Pior owner weakend the hex screw fastner so so the sand tends to collapse. That's it. A bit pricey maybe.

Brief:
I decided to join the digital/surround bandwagon. Speakers are perhaps the weakest links of audio setups, so I concentrated hard. Needed no compromise performance, compactness, and quality.

Details:
This is a surround set consisting of two Quintet pairs, Quintet Center (dual 3" speakers), and KSW-12 Powered Sub-Woofer. Monster cabling driven masterfully by an H/K AVR 7000. Video done by Sony Wega 27V-FS13 and sources are mixed digital analog of multiple kinds and brands. So this product was one that the reputation seemed confirmed. Listening to them at the local shops affirmed its potential. Sounds are superb even when driven to the maximum for extended periods of time. Puts Bose to shame for its prices. The KSW-12 sub makes me fear and desire the KSW-15, but will require me to change my speakers to full range setups and distort my happy home theatre. No faults that I can tell. Obviously if you read my H/K 7000 review, current musical sources are not true multichannel, so its hard to be concise in detailing surround playback. But Dobly Digital/ DTS playback is enthralling if but brief.
Conclusion:
Rich, detailed, and faithful sound reproduction. Quality build and compactness. KSW-12 Sub is super strong and well designed. Perhaps the best compact surround/stereo available. I am suprised to say my original intention was surround playback, but in reality I spend 80 percent of my time in stereo or "quasii-suround". And without my origial intention, these speakers peform superbly. So if you need compact setup for surrond and stereo, you will not be dissappointed.
