Just received the Quintets and I love them. I have a Yamaha RX-V795 receiver and a Klipsch SW150 sub that sounds great for music or movies. I'm a newbie to home theater, but I appreciate the small speakers and the outstanding sound. I would recommend these speakers to anyone and you may wish to look on netmarket or another mail order service to buy. I bought the Quintets and the sub for @ $600.00 through netmarket - a substantial savings from what my local retailer is asking.

I have been in the market for a micro sub/sat system. I have listened to the Klipsch Quintet. I found them to sound decent for audio, but the center channel sounded quite boxy with video. I have listened to the Boston Acoustics Micro 90 system, and the Energy Take 5 systems; both I believed sounded better.
My conclusion is that all of the micros sound weak on the midrange, but the 3 I mentioned are all a good compromise if you need to minimize size. The micro systems have an inherently high crossover (typically higher than 120mhz) and therefore you need to make sure your subwoofer can carry the mhz from that cutoff point. Which then causes a problem in that some of the midrange will come from your sub, so it needs to be located ideally between the Sats.

The Boston's appear to be the best engineered, but the most expensive. I understand that the Mirage AVS500 are made by the same company as the Energy's, but have different tweeters. I would like to hear these.

The Klipsch may work out well if you buy one of their upgraded center speakers. I listened to one with the Quintets for sats and surrounds and it was a lot better, but then you are looking at $500 for the Quintets, $300+ for the sub, and another $200+ for a center. Shop4.com lists the Enery Take 5's for $500 with the sub....

The Klipsch Quintet system that we just purchased sounds Incredible! My wife and I were dyed-in-the-wool Bose fans and were in the store giving the Bose 15's a test listen before our purchase. Our salesman suggested we give the Quintet a listen and we were stunned at the quality of the sound. The presence was clear, the midrange was direct and not muddled. By adding a Klipsch 200 subwoofer to the system, we are now throughly enjoying our vavorite movies. We are powering it through a Sony 625 Surround Reciever and are extremely satisfied with the quality of the speakers.

I bought the Quintet through NetMarket for $318 and the 100 watt subwoofer for $338. They sound great! I've always been a Klipsch fan (heard my first in the late '50s) and these little guys don't disappoint. I have them connected to a Yamaha RX-V955 and a Panasonic A310. The bass is exactly the kind of rumble you want to hear: not too noticeable but can't be avoided. With the separate bass and treble controls on the 955, the desired noticeable amount is very adjustable. The center is some of the cleanest highs and mid sound I've heard and you'd be looking at well over $1k to get to the next quality level. The surrounds do just what surrounds should do: crisp and clear mids and sparkling highs -- again adjustable at the 955.

I just purchased the Klipsch Quintets through netmarket for $318.00 shipping and tax. A local retailer wanted $440.00 without tax. I must say they are the best mini system I have heard. I have a Kenwood sub, not klipsch, but it still sounds great. I was using Klipsch KSB1.1's for my mains but seen the Quintets in a mag. and thought I would try them. Am very pleased and would recommend them.I must say that I am not a bose basher, but I did have the am series and returned them the same day.

I bought the Quintets last weekend. I am very impressed. I looked at the Energy Take 5, Mirage AVS500, Boston Acoustics Micro 80 and 90. While all performed well, I thought the Klipsch was a notch better. I paid more than most who have posted reviews. $500 for the surrounds, $300 for the KSW-10 sub. Got 'em from HiFi Buys. I use them w/ a Technics AX-SA720.

the klipsch quintent system is excellent for home theater. tommorow never dieswas absolutlely awesome on this speaker system. but for music it was a big
let down. energy take 5's sounded much better. these lack the mid range punch.another thing i did not like about them is the downward firing subwoofer. these speaker systems cannot be used without a subwoofer, that is another disadvantage, but they come with nice wall mountable stands.
on the whole these are good value for money, but i think energy take 5's is
still the value leader.

Just got the Quintets about 5 days ago. They are great. Got them for $419 with shipping included. I bought them from AYS Electronics in TX. I'm using a Yamaha RX-V995 receiver and Velodyne CT-100 Subwoofer. Picked up the sub at Circuit City and got the receiver at a local dealer. Feel free to email me if you have any questions.

I just bought the Klipsch Quintet and the KSW-10 subwoofer and connected it to my Denon AVR 2700 and Toshiba 3109. Boy, was I am impressed with the quality of sound that these small speaker could produce when playing DVD movies. I do not profess to be a audiophile, but when it comes to music CDs, there just seemed to be something missing. Because I spent most of the time watching DVD movies, I am not really bothered by the music quality. I actually compared between the Energy Take 5 and decided on the Quintet for the seemingly better built quality. Anyway, I would only give these speakers 4 stars for the music.

Speakers are perhaps the most difficult audio component to review. The perceived sound quality is extremely subjective and will be influenced by the other audio components, room acoustics, speaker placement, personal taste and etc.
I just bought and connected a set of Quintets to my home theater system. I think the system sounds great. I'm driving them with a custom sub-woofer into a 24X26 family room with cathederal ceilings. The system is more than capable of filling the room (and the house) with sound.

I find the sound to be very clear at all volumes. I've listned to jazz, rock and a little classical and have had nothing but praise for the system. When used with the DVD player, the system sounds fantastic.

I would not hesitate to recommend these speakers to a friend and I would certainly buy them again.
