After many hours of researching and trials i found the MX125 Mark II for $850. I have no complaints with this sub. It produces a tone of bass, I had a trouble finding a sub that could shake the concrete walls in my basement. First i tried the AR SHO-12, which was ok but couldn't keep up with the rest of my system, next i tried the Velodyne va1012 which was better but not good enough. You have to be carefull with this sub or you'll have the cops at your front door.I was not happy about having to spend $800 + dollars on a sub, but i found subs are't cheap. |

I own or have owned an M&K MX-125II, M&K MX-90 and a Sunfire True Sub. The M&K's are bigger, so plan on giving them room. But, guess what? THEY'RE BETTER!!!! |

The M&K MX125mkII is the answer, if you have a processor that has it's own crossover then this sub is perfect for you, M&K redirects the money from saving on the speaker level inputs to a crossover bypass which is perfect for THX pre/pro's, let your process do it's job, thay also upped the power and added better drivers. This is basically a MX150THX sub for less $$, plays fast, tight, sharp, it sounds very real, not boomy and dull, great for music and movies and when you need it it will blow away your neigbors. |

The M&K subwoofer is simply the bomb! If you are blind, you will never find an M&K subwoofer in the listening area. The sound from it is so smooth; it blends in with any stereo system. M&K is just awesome! The speaker doesn't rattle in the cabinet and it doesn't give you a head ace. Just walk around your room; the bass will be there. It is very difficult to tell where the M&K is place in your room. Only no one should complaint about this subwoofer. Just look at the other reviews and even I give M&K 5 stars. |

Amazing, Amazing, Amazing. I cant even say anything else. I have a Yamaha CX-2 preamp and a MX-2 amp that runs 150 a channel, great stereo amp if you need one. My fronts are B&W 602s these were sexy by themselves. I have them crossed over at 85hz and the sub at 80hz. It sounds best set like this. I have thrown every kinda music at this sub and it has not even thought about tripping. It rolles through Dave Matthews Band, Biggie, Snoop, Lynard Skynard, Metallica, Swing music, Pearl Jam. This sub does not even stutter. It is trully amazing. You need one of these even if you think you dont. Its bass is amazing through all octave levels, with no octaves being over powering. I have good and this is great. My friends just drop there jaws at it. You cannot pinpoint the location ofthe sub by sound, I would put money on the fact that you could not pin the tail on this donkey. M&K subs should not be overlooked. This is the best toy I have ever had. |

All I can say is that this sub is incredible. I can now honestly say that I now hear my music as it was intended to be heard. I've heard all of the velodyne/nht etc... in the price range of the M&K and there is nothing that can touch its tight, fast, deep bass. It is a sealed enclosure so you won't encounter the sharp roll-offs and distortion/boominess as in the other models I auditioned. I use the M&K for 70% music and 30% movies and It hasn't skiped a beat... Of course I don't need to explain performance with substandard recordings. Obviously it won't sound as good, but that goes for any sub/speaker..5 stars with out a doubt. |

I've owned this sub for about 2 years now, and it has not let me down on anything I've thrown at it. If you have a large room like I do (20'x26'x10') it's hard to find a sub to fill it, and keep up with Digital soundtracks, but this sub is up to task. If you've ever had to back off your sub during a movie to keep it from blowing up, this is your sub. At THX reference level and above, I've never even been able to strain this sub, although the amp does get awfully hot! Even running all 5 channels of bass and the LFE, this sub has no problem. It's expensive, but it will be the last sub you ever buy. |

Strength:
Very accurate low bass reproduction
Weakness:
Expensive (for my budget) I just bought the Mk II to replace a Velodyne CT-80 and I’m amazed at the audible improvement it made to my HT system. I purchased it based on the high recommendations found here, as well as an actual audition at a local hi-fi store. This baby really packs a clean punch! I’m not an expert in technical HT matters (this is only the second SW I’ve ever owned), but I’m extremely satisfied with the away this SW has reproduced all the source material I’ve listened to. This is definitely a keeper. Off-topic: A word to the English aficionado in this thread. Since when has proper use of the English language been synonymous with the ability to discern good sounding equipment? Poor spelling certainly detracts meaning from a message, but this forum is definitely not the proper place to criticize what you perceive as other people’s shortcomings. Reserve the criticism for the equipment. Similar Products Used: Velodyne CT-80 |
