I had the Paradigm PS-1000 for about three months. I decided to try the PS-2200 and I immediately boxed my PS-1000 and took it to the dealer! I am fortunate that I have a dealer that will allow you to upgrade. If your in the market for a sub that won't break your pocketbook but might break some windows give this sub a try! I purchased this unit locally several weeks ago. I have listened to many subwoofers that managed to sound somewhat impressive in home theater demos with the boomy, bloated bass found in film explosions, etc. Not many subs sound decent with music, but this one definitely does. About the only subs I've heard that sound as musical and tight are the servo-controlled Velodynes, and those start at $1200+. If you are looking for dynamic theater impact as well as incredible musicality, go with the PW2200.

So if you're on somewhat of a budget and want:

. To make the neighbors think you have a pet Tyrannosaur
. To fill up to at least a 4900 square foot room with plenty of ease and

Wow! This sub is amazing. I have never heard some of my favorite music come alive like this before. I listen to a lot of electronic, ambient, and jazz music and this subwoofer has shown me just what a good sub can do. I have heard subs before (quite a few) and have never had a chance to really listen like I can now. This speaker is good. It is being run with a pair of older (read 1995) Paradigm 9SEmkIII mains and it really does sound very nice. Paradigm is a major player in the affordable high-end speaker market. Listen to this sub--you'll like it.

Bought the PW-2200 with a pair of Paradigm Monitor 3's this past weekend. I was debating between the PS-1000 and the PW-2200, and went with the 2200 because the room size it's in is 25x25. I was concerned that the PS-1000 would be overworked in that large a room after talkig with the local Paradigm dealer. Very happy with the performance of the 2200. Hits deep and clean, handling such inane recordings as Bass Boy without flinching, and providing crisp sound during movie showings. Good sub for the price. No complaints.

I've had this sub for a couple of months now and I absolutely love it. My music never sounded so meaty. I haven't noticed any inability to articulate the low frequencies in music, and it is absolutely wall-shaking (I've had to reinforce the paneling in my home theater room) with dynamic movie soundtracks.
I bought a Cambridge Soundworks Powered Subwoofer previously and it sounded quite good, but, to make sure, I looked around at other subs during the 30-day trial period. I listened to a PW2200 demo that really knocked my socks off and, when I was told that I could own it for the same money, I simply couldn't with clear conscience keep the CSW. In my opinion the Paradigm performed better in every way that was important (and audible) to me.

Also, it blends very well with my Paradigm Titans (which themselves are an outstanding bargain!) and it's adjustability (level, crossover frequency, and phase) are absolutely fabulous. For anyone other than a super-serious audiophile with lots of money to blow on a single speaker this is the best choice in a subwoofer.

This sub is great. I love it as it sounds awesome. It integrates well with my Bose AM10 as the passive sub (of Bose) is really inadequate. It is best when DVD - AC3 movie is played. Not only can I hear it (the bass), I can feel it too. I got it from Kromer Radio in Toronto for roughly $550 US.It is a great sub for this price. I absoulutely love it. Five Stars. The rest of my system consists of Sony DVD player S530
Harman Kardon Receiver AVR 75
Bose AM 10 speakers.

This is a very capable, musical sub. It blends perfectly with the Studio 60's. My room is 18'x15'x8' and I can't imagine needing anything more powerful. Solid, quick, deep, and powerful; what more could I ask for?Before you buy anything else in this price range, check out the PW-2200.

I bought this sub with an intention of selling it but, ended up hooking it up to HT setup. I used it for three months and after two citations from the local cops,it had to go. If you have no neighbours and want serious sound, this is your sub. Infact I am looking buy two once I move to a house.
