Strength:
Beautiful, full sound. Smooth yet low CONTROLLED powerful bass. Seemless integration with current speakers
Weakness:
price I first used the crappy "tin-can BASS" 10inch subs, which blew a fuse within 5min of play. I then used JBL PB12 for about 1 week. After reading the constant rants and raves about Velodyne, I decided to try one. THey were well worth the trip and experimentation. They sound MUCH more solid, seemless and controlled compared to the JBLs. The JBLs were at the top notch compared to Klipsch, but compared to the Velodynes'...they don't match up. The Velodynes let you know they're more serious with the heat sinks on the amp section. The JBLs had no heat dissipation. This is a top notch product. Strength:
very nice bass,strong and deep.
Weakness:
none...except those useless feet!! I got such a good price cause a friend used to work for them and he hooked me up with a discount. It really is amazing how much a sub adds to music and movies. takes it to a whole new level. That friend of mine got the CT150-that is just overkill...unless you have a house. I live in an apt. and the neighbors complained within the 1st 2 hrs i had it on. So i really cant tkae full advantage of the sub. Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
VERY POWERFUL! Easy to use, LED power light, PRICE, good with music, and it goes LOW, 87db @ 20hz!
Weakness:
NONE! This is an excellent sub! My listening room is my living room, which opens up to other rooms with cathedral ceilings. I am talking over 8000 cubic feet in my living room alone, not counting the other catherdral ceiling rooms! It has no problem shaking everything! I am worried for my computer located in a different room, it shakes the heck out of my monitor and hard drive! Similar Products Used: Definitive Prosub 200TL, and CT-100 |

Strength:
loud
Weakness:
build quality, boomy, rubber feet I went through 3 of these. The first one was the CT-100. I got it home and it would not turn on. I returned it and they gave me the CT-120 for the same price. This unit was also broken, the cabinet was coming apart. The 3rd one finally worked. Similar Products Used: Paradigm PDR-12, Audio Source SW-15, Acoustic Research ARS300 |

Strength:
solid, tight bass at high levels
Weakness:
none yet good sub, I have a small listening area set up with a yamaha processor and a mcintosh mc250 amplifier hooked up to a pair of dcm timeframe tf-350's. this system paired with this sub make a good combination. This sub is a little expensive but overall it is worth the money. In a small room it is fairly stong at very low levels. Corner loaded in my room the response drops off at about 23hz. I would recomend this sub to any one that wants to spend this much money. Similar Products Used: yamaha yst-sw200 |

Strength:
Very powerful. Runs cool. Very fast attack.
Weakness:
The crazy thing likes to walk around the room. It killed my TV. I bought a RM660 set of speakers from Circuit City, which included a Polk PSW350. I am not a bass head but I was very disappointed with the performance of the sub so I upgraded it to a PSW450. No don’t get me wrong, the Polk set is very nice. The speakers are very smooth and eloquent but when a big bass note strolls by it is met by a great big SPLAT!! You know what I mean, that "blah" sound that comes from a distorting speaker. I returned it and while I was there I gave the Velodyne CT120 a listen. It seemed to be much more powerful than the Polk. So I decided to take it home and try it out. That little black block has got some power! I had it sitting on the floor by my entertainment center (do not ever put it there). During the helicopter seen in "The Matrix” my TV quit making reds. I took it to a repair shop and they said the circuit board and become delaminated as if it had been dropped. When I told him what I had he said WELL MOVE THE SUB YOU IDIOT!! Geesh! So I went back to CC one more time and bought a Sony Wega or Vega or whatever. That’s one nice TV I must say!! That sub like to walk around the room. The sub has no feet on it. It has a smooth bottom. I have it on carpet and it wanders around. I bought some little rubber pads and put them on the bottom which stopped that. Similar Products Used: Polk PSW450 |
