Nice Tight bass Great lows and no distortion. Great for watching a good action DVD

None to be found that i can find the neighbors on the other hand think its a bit loud and it makes the pictures on the wall go sideways

Great overall sub if not wanting to spend over a grand. Had the Ct 100 and decieded why not just go the extra 100 bucks and get a 12 inch. It hits deep and clean. Nothing can compare to it. Have it sitting in fron of living room and it doesn't matter were you put it it sounds great anywere even in the kitchen or the rest of the house for that matter. Great for listening to music except when your the neighborhood is tryin to sleep. Before you buy a sub go and listen to this it will win your vote.

After only having this CT120, I am blown away.
Movies are no longer the same. They now come to LIFE!!!
And music, it feels lik I'm on stage.
This would surely have to be the best sub at any price.
I have listened to around 6 or 7 hi end brands.
They just cant compete with the CT120.
Add the Bose 301 Mark3 main speakers, KEF 100 Centre, Dali Sats and a Loewe 76cm TV, the Pioneer 535 DVD and this is awesome sub, and you have an amazing home theatre package thats not too expensive.
The CT120 will compliment most systems and having the Velodyne badge, what more can I say.The volume on the sub is only on 3.5 from 10, and all the paintings in he room need straightning. The room is 4 X 6 meters and it rocks.
In fact, the whole house seems to rock. This would have to be one of the best things I have bought in a long time. The wife is even impressed.

If all you want is noise and loud, impressive sound effects by which to be evicted, fear not! this thing will please the hell out of you.

If, however, you like to hear your music with some truth and accuracy to it, avoid this sub. As much as I enjoyed the HGS-10 & FSX-12 for their ability to convey not only power but accuracy and musicality, I find this sub almost entirely incompatible with music.

For my tastes (100% music), not much good; for HT and those of you in search of cheap, loud scary bass, perfect. A very average product.

This is my first powered subwoofer and I love it. I decided to purchase this after much consideration and reading reviews from this site. Of all the reviews I've read, it seems like you can't beat Velodyne powered subs at under $1000. For most people, this sub has more than enough power and bass. I currently have a HT system with Sony ES receiver and Bose speakers. With this sub, my system came to life! Bass was very deep and accurate, thunderous at times. I am very satisfied with this powered sub.

***If you are looking for a quality powered sub for your HT, get a velodyne powered sub. If you go to a Circuit City, they always have one that is an open box item. You can also deal down with a salesman. I don't think you can buy a quality powered sub for under 250, and this is a perfect sub for most listeners. Also, make sure you pick up MonsterBass subwoofer cable.***

Deap, Clean Bass.

Difficult to Spot any shortfalls in this product

Great Sub
Expensive compared to what the US guys pay, but not too bad for NZ.
Felt that the sub didn't envelop you with sound such as the B&W did (that I could have got for similar money) but found that it is much cleaner and tighter than the B&W.
The B&W 'rumbled' at times and struggled to keep up with musical passages that had a quick beat.
Whereas the Velodyne is able to keep up with all the movies and CD's that I have thrown at it and still produce sufficient sound pressure levels to get you excited!
I would highly reccomend this SUB to anyone looking for one around this price level.

Solid sound, deep bass, rigid and smooth at the same time

aliitle difficult to get the volume right between movies and music. but don't fear this, just takes experience.

I have owned my Velodyne CT120 for a couple of years now and I am thoroughly satisfied. I was not an experienced audiophile at the time and wasn't sure how to adjust it and where to place the sub(I would recommend asking around if you fit this senario)but, once I figures this out, uh oh! I have a Harmon Kardon receiver and CD, Infinity front speakers, Carver amp, and this sub. I can't tell you how unbelieveable this sub performs. I tested it at high levels with ZOMBIE (how much harder could you be on music. I thought the neighbors were gonna shoot me.

The bass, duh!!

Weakness doesn't have anyhting to do with Velodyne

I love my Sub. Velodyne is a beautiful thing. Love Bass? One word, VELODYNE!! This thing is awesome. I own a pair of Infinity Overture-3's. And Velodyne is EXACTLY what is needed to produce bass worth putting next to them. I urge ANYONE looking for bass to give Velodyne a good chance before purchasing. If you buy this speaker you better have the highs and mids to compete or your sub will take over. I promise this speaker will not dissapiont you. Unless you own a pair of Wilson's of course. but if that's the case you wouldn't be reading this. The sound is best described as "rich". The bass is full. It is almost as if you can't hear the bass, but feel the sound as it fills everything around you. I love my sub. The only reason to avoid Velodyne is if you live in an apartment and your neighbors don't like your music. It's hard to contain.

All the tight, deep base one can ask for!

Just wanted to let everyone in the Ohio/Michigan area know you can get these terrific Velodyne subs for a song at local ABC warehouses. Go to thier website, www.abcwarehouse.com and print up instore clearance advertisements on the Velodyne CT subs and find a store that may have some left. I would call first since only some stores have a few left. CT-100 was only 150 bucks. The CT is now last years subs so they are giving them away. You cannot even come close to getting such a fine sub for such a good price.

I don't believe you can get this price over the internet, local store only. Good luck.
